Clean sheets........

Seriously, it's our weakness IMO

Our formation sets up for exciting attacking football, are we gonna concede yes, are we gonna outscore the opposition, most definitely. Some more clean sheets would be nice but winning is more important

It didn't seem to be a problem in February. We conceded 1 goal in 5 games.

Then March began and we've conceded 8 in 4 games so far.

April's going to be carnage.

Not down to tactics IMO . Usually down to individual mistakes . Also have never seen so many long shots hit the back of the net as this season . Thankfully doesn't affect the results.

To be fair we ain't much to moan about , but we do .

I'm more concerned with the amount of goals we are scoring..... not once have we hit 5 in a league game this season and nobody has managed a hat trick. Tinpot champions elect

Well considering that we are about to play a team who can't score for toffee.........

Nailed on to conceed first o_O

Watch the build up to the first goal yesterday. Free kick just in their half, everyone goes up, when the first ball doesn't connect everyone stays forward while possession is recycled eventually leading to Duffy (as an aside, Duffy drifts across the width of the pitch in this move) crossing it into O'Connel. There was even an attempted through-ball in the box for EEL in the first half. Second goal, one wingback crosses it for the other running in on the far post.

Charlton were playing some very good football coming forward, and Wilder still went with our strength and tried to out score them. If that game goes against us, if a late equaliser goes in, then inevitably people ask questions about why Wright's on the bench, and why three attacking subs were made when we had the lead. It's brave management and it's something I appreciate. If it means conceding a few more goals then so be it.

Although Oldham aren't prolific scorers, they've conceded 38, five fewer than us. They've also scored 26, approximately a third the number we've scored.

I've no idea what those statistics mean, but I doubt it means edge of the seat, free flowing football from them or the opposition. I'd settle for a scrappy 1-0 to us.

Bring back Clough, we had loads under him.
'We started with a point' Cloughy would always be happy with a point, be it at Bristol or Hartlepool.

We would probably have conceded half the goals in the last four games under him, but the downside is we'd only have got half the points.

They were difficult to break down at the Lane last Saturday. A lovely goal by Sharp broke the deadlock

Clough is about to be exposed again. He won promotion with Hasselbanks team but could be religated through his own efforts.

As people have said, doesn't so much matter in this Division as long as you've got the goal threat to score more. As a slight aside, looking at Northampton's record last year and they had a run of 2-2s around this time and only kept 3 clean sheets in the last few months so it looks like the Wilder way.

Different kettle of fish next season but then again, teams have been successful with this approach, we are the new Bournemouth :)

Last Saturday?

Oldham weren't that bad at the Lane and to be fair to them, couldn't be accused of parking the bus. They've put some good results together since Sheridan came back so it's another tricky away trip.

We seem to have that knack of finding ways to win games at the moment so I still expect us to win.

I meant Boxing Day!

Being fair We have been beaten by some good long range shots in the last few games and this season in general... not an awful lot you can do about that.

Having said that we aren't employing a spoiler in there to hassle and close people down which would reduce that time and space.

Wilder may decide to use one next year if it's still causing issues

I thought we should have had one bloke on the near post for their free-kick on Saturday. 24 feet is an awful lot of ground for a goalie to cover for a shot from the edge of the box.

teams concede goals , and to be fair most we conceded have been among the goals of the season
swindons 2 and saturdays were fabulous goals

wed moan like buggary if we won most games 1-0 rather than the 4-1 , 4-2

we kept a clean sheet v bolton when it mattered
