I've just checked your profile. GrayBlade is correct. Not a single positive. Supportive post. Not only that, you say "lol" when you're in your mid-40s? You present as a juvenile and may even be a pig.

But sometimes I've used LOL and............................oh bollocks, I see your point :)

I'm deffo not a Pig though, well, maybe a greedy one.

Transfer deadline day is and has always felt the same. We're the council kid that dreams of a mega drive for Christmas but deep down new we'll get a second hand master system with a faulty controller, at best. i'm waaaaaay past the disappointment - we just crack on with Alex the Kidd.

Wilder has earned our trust so I ain't bitching. If the board didn't back him as he wanted, it'll be a rod for the board's own back as Wilder will be tempted to pastures new. But I don't think this be the case, and I'm still positive of a solid season with many highs.

Oh and Welcome Clayton The Blade.

UTB

A few years ago perhaps, not now. The views of Birmingham fans seem pretty clear on that.

I fear Wilder has this one wrong. He is not the pace we need upfront to get in behind teams.

The Birmingham view from were probably 75% positive imo.

You always get the odd complaint especially for a team that's spending multiple millions and getting ideas above their station.

Always gonna get moaners. Everton fans reading views on dcl or Birmingham on Adams would have told you that.

True. Remember the 'leadboots' comments from a fraction of us.

Being fair to the guy he's scored 1 in 3 In This division in a pretty poor Birmingham side since turning 30.

It's not a terrible signing imo. Just not the marquee one we were after.
Don't think we were allowed the marquee on the DESSO, so it was never an option.

To establish ourselves in this division we have to find a way to get a good number of points away from home.If we do well at home and win half our games,we will still need to get 20+ points from our away games and Donaldson will be a big part of achieving this.We have bolstered our defensive options, which was essential and now we have Donaldson we can play one 'up top' away from home and still provide a goal threat. We had no one who could do this from our current squad and i'm pretty sure Wilder decided that after our first two away games,we needed this option. As is always the case with Wilder, this is a very clever signing, don't think age, think experience !!

Agreed, similar story last year as well from Mr. Wilder. Sold Che Adams & Calvert-Lewin and signed players who he knew would do the required job to achieve our objectives.
This, ^ ^ CW brought Hanson in, now surplus to requirements, but contributed in the short term to what we were trying to achieve, to get out of that god damn awful league.
Donaldson as got until the end of the season, if we achieve what's needed, either promotion, or mid table stability, with help from Donaldson, albeit the odd winning goal here and there, then it's job done. Next pre season, time for CW to take stock and get the players needed over the line to get out of the championship, or hopefully keep a foot hold in the premier. If it's the latter scenario, we'll soon find out how deep km and the princes pockets are.

He is a hard working striker who will hold the ball up and give us more strength up front. He won't score many and he won't give us pace but I imagine he will be a steady 7/10 most weeks. He will probably divide the fans. Half will love his work rate and half will hate his lack of pace and goal threat
lack of pace , hes recorded as the fastest player in the championship over 100m .

and billy sharp had a good season 3 years ago , your point being

why this constant need to drag down any player we sign
we dont need owls fans doing it , we have in house club destroyers

let the guy play before concluding hes useless

He'll still be quicker than Ched, Sharp and Clark.

With a night to sleep on it I'm fairly happy with this. Has scored at this level, provides something we don't have in that presence up top.

Won't have cost the earth, is a short term ish contract and one wilder obviously rates.

He's bullied us previously and caused all sorts of problems for our back line. Let's see how he gets on.

We've still got money to spend in Jan if it becomes apparent we need to.

Im certainly not doing that, I'm merely pointing out he was the fastest over 100m 3 year ago

Yep, that's all you were merely doing.

To add to Roy's comprehensive coverage, this is from a Brum supporter on 365.

You'll like him.

Works his bollocks off, will get you a few goal, and with support is a more than decent front man.

Billy is... and was always going to be our main striker after the transfer window. I would certainly have liked some pace to come into the side, but I think Donaldson could end up playing a very good support role to make chances for Billy, and offer a different outlet to what we already have.

Think Donaldson and sharp will be a threat to any team in the league .
Can't remember sharp ever having a partner as big and powerful as Donaldson . And don't think Donaldson has played with a partner in the past few years at brum , which makes his goal return more impressive

Ah, Houso. Happy with the window, or were you expecting more?

Can't be arsed to go through 12 pages but one thing I've picked up is that because he's 33 he will have lost his pace ,I'll just point out a 35 year old has just won the 100 m world final .just a thought ,give the lad a chance

Come on Rev, you're better than that. I actually say in the post that I would have liked some pace. The window always seems to be judged on last day activity, but I'd give it around a 7/10. Some nice little signings such as Stevens and Baldock, some underwhelming ones such as Evans, then some others who may be pearlers down the line such as Lundstram and Heneghan.

Plus, we kept Fleck, J o'C and of course Brooks. Three players who I always thought were immensely sellable.

Sorry, it was a serious question. Wasn't being sarcastic.

I might give it the same mark, though mainly for lack of sales rather than good signings

Some on here seem to be paranoid that every comment is a negative one that is slamming the club. He's not as fast as he once was. That's just a fact. If you want to believe otherwise then fine but you'll be upset when you see him play if you think he's going to outpacing defenders.

Everyone needs to fucking calm down.

BtL, bless him, would put a positive spin on McCabe pissing in his breakfast cereal.

Only the great Dunc Disorderly was more one eyed. Even Sean Thornton occasionally expresses displeasure.

I just don't get it. Donaldson has attributes that I think will be a big help to us but what exactly is the point in trying to spin it that he is blessed with incredible pace when he isn't? It's not a slight on Donaldson or the club, it's just stating the fact that he isn't as fast as he once was.

How is Donaldson any different to Hanson? Apart from the obvious!

Shocking buy.
