'Classier'

I think it's the opposite to reality like how "bad" in the 80s and early 90s meant good because I can't see how a club with their most famous fan being a overweight shirtless orc, having a number of fans arrested or fired from their jobs for various distasteful incidents can ever claim to be classy while their ground is a rusty dirty partly condemned infamous site

This photo from pre match really does sum up how unclassy a place it is

Wriggly tin roofed shithole.

It is their attempt at coming to terms with the fact half of their fanbase can't remember watching them play in the Premier league, and of the half that are old enough to remember many will be in the first few stages of dementia anyway. Every year that passes their dream of top flight football fades away a little bit more, well done Chansiri long may you own them.

I remember when Jack Charlton was their manager,a pre season friendly was mooted by United, and he turned it down saying that they didn't need the prestige of playing against us.
We had the last laugh on him when we played a pre season friendly at Newcastle when he was there and their fans turned on him after watching it and he resigned shortly after.

I went up to that friendly. 1-1 draw in front of around 4k if I remember correctly.

We were singing for his sacking all game, as were they! He resigned straight after the game. All the Geordies were applauding us as we went past on the coaches after the game.

Imagine how pathetic it would've been in 2016 if we were trying to one up them by saying we were "classier".

That's how it looks now. They've literally got nothing left so they cling onto something that can't be measured, just to pander to their insecure little minds that they're still relevant.

Looked on Google for a definition of Class/Classy and this comment popped up,

Seems strange that they always go on that Blades have no class and they are the classier team/supporters, when actually we never talk about class, and they never stop mentioning it.

the irony of them wanting to be liked by the PL big boys and thinking they'd be welcomed back to the PL with open arms is that genuinely big clubs are not liked by other big clubs

Class:

Only pigs can be so fucking daft, as to repeat what previous pigs have a actually been arrested and fined for....

Aye
Emulated by Lawrie McMenemy’s departure from Sun’lun following us winning @ Roker Park & them heading for relegation (to 3rd division).
Their fans were apoplectic & we feared the worst when ‘identified’ in an alehouse only to be treated as ‘conquering heroes’ (& bought ale) when the news filtered through that ‘big Lawrie’ had resigned (afore he was lynched !)
Mention us in Sun’lun to this day & folk of a certain age reminisce fondly about that day and Sabella’s performance when they beat us 6-2 (?)

The Hyacinth Bucket of football clubs.

The early 90s are their “Royal Dalton with the periwinkles” they are sure will have top 6 clubs extending dinner party invites, meanwhile Hillsborough stadium and the last 30 years of mediocrity are Onslow pulling up outside in his string vest with a can of special brew.

(A reference for the kids there)
