It's a foul under the unsportsmanlike conduct regulation, sub category - 'shows a lack of respect for the game'

Same for tucking the ball in your shirt (without handling it) etc

It's a catch-all for 'being a dick'

He did it as a response to Alan Ball doing the same thing the previous season , when Arsenal came and completely destroyed us in one of the most impressive performances by an an away team I ever saw at the Lane .

On this occasion , the boot was on the other foot when we did the same to them in an outstanding performance orchestrated by TC .

At this point I would like to challenge the oft repeated comment on here that he ‘wasn’t fit to lace Hagan’s boots’ based on what their fathers / grandfathers had told them .

I had the pleasure and privilege of watching both of them for a number of years and can say unequivocally that on their day , both were outstanding footballers capable of moments of sheer genius and deserve equal recognition .

Blades 0 Arsenal 5 (George 2, Graham, Simpson, Kennedy)

A miserable day it was! Looking at the reports, the reporters said we were the better side in the first 20 minutes before Arsenal scored the 1st goal, I do not remember this but unfortunately I still remember 4 of the 5 Arsenal goals well and Alan Ball posturing towards the end of the match!

John Hope had the long shot from George Graham well covered and it wasnt a powerful shot but he failed to hold it and Charlie George was quick enough to tap the ball in

Blades 1 (Dearden) Arsenal 0

At last I got my plaster pot removed from my left arm but went into an anti climax feeling when the doctor told me not to play sports for a further 2 weeks :-(

Dearden's goal in the 1st half wasnt the biggest event of the match. It was Alan Ball's sending off late in the game after receiving a 2nd booking for a foul on Trevor Hockey. The Lane crowd erupted with loud cheers and Ball responded with slow handclapping to all directions of the ground.

I was in my 3rd week at Mary Hare. I didnt get to know the score until after breakfast in the next day. The rule was that I should go back to my dormitory to make my bed and clean my teeth before going to my classroom but I couldnt wait to find out the score as I went straight to a classroom (my classroom had the Daily Mail but I preferred the football coverage in the Express) to look at the scores on the back page of the Daily Express and I was gobsmacked to discover that we had beaten Arsenal 5-0 and I was looking at the...
