That challenge and then his behaviour after the challenge is something that makes me question yet again why he is captain.

He's not a role model or an example to anybody in the team. Never see him communicating with players, goes missing in games.

Ever since he's been captain we have been fucking shite

Being captain means being a leader. Someone to fire up the troops and for for them to rally to.

Clarke is not that and never has been that.

It used to. Football has evolved since then and a captain now is pretty much a defunct, meaningless position.

I know where you’re coming from about the evolution of football and the captain role but don’t underestimate the influence of a good captain to marshal a team.
