When a good club want seasoned players out ! They give them a package to cover rest of contract he will have done alright financially and will pickup a decent contract with us .
I'm talking of premiership clubs here ( toon) the rest can't really afford such deals as money is very tight across the EFL .

I'd imagine Newcastle will be paying the rest of his contract plus part of his salary for 1-2 seasons, let's face it they can afford to, it will help to offset their wage bill too, leaving more FFP room for their summer

Agreed. Our wing centre halves push up and support but don’t overlap nearly as much as they did, which is fine.
