Chrissy having a dig at United fans

Moose even warmed up, stripped off and was ready to come on at 60 mins only for Chris to change his mind and tell him to sit back down. Didsy then came on instead... Not sure what the thinking was.
A bit of dithering with a splash of fannying abart?

I think he was having a dig at me, to be honest. I caught his eye just as I was turning the TV off but it was too late, my finger had already pressed the button and he disappeared into a little dot in the centre of the screen. Soz Chrissie lad...

Some nonsense in here, frankly. We played them off the park, dominated possession and territory and created 3 or 4 big chances. Billy missed one first half, Oli missed a horrible one second half and their keeper made two good saves. We should really have created more chances but our crossing and final ball let us down, but if our strikers take those chances it’s 2-1 or 3-1 and looks like a very dominant win.
Seems to say 1-1 on bbc app. Let me take a look at the Sky app. Bear with me.

There was a stunning save by Ryan to the McBurnie poke towards goal, but we didn't really cause Ryan that much trouble.

It certainly wasn't an outstanding performance. Several players had good games but overall, as a team, we were a bit disjointed. Certainly a decent performance, but no more really. It wasn't like Brighton were holding on for dear life.

It reminded me of many games in the Championship last season.....it’s not often that a PL team comes to BL with such a defensive mindset.
We’ve always struggled to break down team who keep numbers back.
in the past we’ve had to rely on Mark Duffy and later David McGoldrick to come up with a bit of magic to create anything.

We played quite well today but we lacked qualify with the final ball and half chances that came our way.

I didn't think he was having a dig. I thought it was a way of him praising the effort the team put in. He did say that he understood people needed to get off!

Heard the interview very prickly from CW going on about we're not a long ball team so something has rattled his cage.

We weren't outstanding we huffed and puffed for long periods but didn't work one of the shortest goalkeepers in the league enough. Brighton changed their formation and came with a plan to get a point it worked despite them looking like one of the poorest teams to come to the Lane this season.

Mousset should have come on just to give the Brighton umper lumpers something different to deal with, he didn't and maybe thats why CW is a little shirty tonight. Games like this happen especially it seems when we've had a break. Hopefully the remaining fixtures at Home mean teams will come and have a go and the game will be more open.

Strange that you think that there's 'some nonsense in here' only to go on and summarise pretty much exactly what everybody else has been saying on said thread...

I'm in total agreement with him regarding the fans.
Couldn't see how many empty there were on the kop, but all other parts of the ground looked sparse in comparison to other games.
On the performance, i thought it was very good, maybe not outstanding.
Osborn was excellent when he came on.
I stayed till the end (as usual) and clapped. But I left my seat as the final whistle went but was clapping all the way up the steps. It was partly frustration and disappointment that made my brain tell my legs to start walking. But Chis is right I think and I wish I’d stayed a minute longer to properly show my appreciation for a very good effort by the lads.

I listen to the game on 5 live and it comes to sumat when waddle praises our players more than some on ere
Dominated possession, a few good chances in second half while he thought Brighton were relegation material who only played for set pieces and fouls

Wilder doing the old deflecting tactic. He knows deep down 'he' could/should have done better.
Everyone has a bad game, today it was Wilder's turn.

If he said it was an outstanding performance, then I disagree with him.
Brighton was a shockingly bad team today, they showed hardly any desire to score imo apart from the 5 minutes after our goal.
While we look good at times in possession with some neat passing here and there, we never created anything from it, just awful chipped in crosses straight to their 6 foot plus players, it was mind numbing to watch over and over. It only took Stevens to say f**** it I'm hitting one for us to get a goal.

I was going to say you’ve either misunderstood my post or misunderstood the OP. Then I realised you posted the OP so I really don’t know what to tell you. I think the idea we didn’t try to win the game is incorrect. I think those saying we didn’t create chances are incorrect. We took the game to them, dominated possession and territory, created chances, and let ourselves down with our finishing.

I’ll buy him a drink next time I see him in’t Dev. (If he’s got room for one more?)😀

The problem is that our expectations have increased.
We've done far better than anyone expected this season and we're on the verge of qualifying for European football, it's within touching distance, our players know it, we know it, Wilder won't commit but he knows it.
Games like today, against lowly little Brighton, we should be winning, or at least that's the expectation!

I think we'll be disappointed come the end of the season because we'll not get 5th place. I hope I'm wrong, but.....

We all know that it's the Blades way!

That’s what I liked about Maupay as well. Was willing to have a pop from distance and wasn’t a bad effort.

I always thought it was a bit naive to see this run of 3 home games against lower placed teams as 3 wins. All games are difficult. Some games are more difficult than others obviously. But we have to fight tooth and nail to get anything in every game. And I’m proud the lads have shown they will always do that.

Supporters' frustration made them leave early and Wilder's frustration made him slag them off on the radio.

Just different ways of showing frustration I suppose.

Just listening to PoG on Radio Sheff after the Brighton game and Wilder obviously irked at some comments about United's performance today and especially called out fans not staying behind to clap the players off the pitch . He thought it was an outstanding performance and we never sat back and kept going for the win right until the end.

I disagree slightly. I don't think that it was a poor performance but it certainly wasn't outstanding in my eyes and we certainly did not continually go for the win. In fact, the initial setup of Olly and Billy up front and then the substitution of Didsy for Billy does not scream 'going for the win to me'. How on earth Moose wasn't played today baffled me. The game was crying out for a bit of pace and trickery up front as Brighton looked solid and organised in defence.

40 points is great and you can't win every game but I it looked like we were happy with a draw from 60 mins to be honest.

Can’t agree mate that was an outstanding performance just “in the box”
We needed to unlock the Brighton defence and didn’t stand much chance with their 7 footers
Some great classy football by United constantly looking for a win
Wilder bang right IMO

Totally agree with your comments it's time to take the shackles off be brave nothing to lose

One of the best things about having Wilder as our manager is that I know no matter how angry or frustrated I get about a result or a performance, Wilder hates losing more than any of us and I know he’s going to do something about it when we aren’t great.

Adkins by comparison was so ‘meh’ when we didn’t win. I don’t want stories about Geese! I want someone who cares!!!

That's nonsense it was a close game we didn't create fk all really draw was a fair result
