I’m sorry to disappoint some on here but if Wilder goes on a long term losing run some will want him out.

Never mind long term losing run , Brian (the bell end) Blade already does. What a cock if ever there was an argument for contraception he’s it.

He strengthened the side in areas that I didn’t think needed strengthening, dropped a couple of players I didn’t think needed dropping, and the players he signed weren’t the players I thought we needed.

Then came a performance like yesterday, an away performance where we went and secured a superb win at a place we usually get fuck all from, and did it by playing the right way.

It’s a really tough one - Warnock was great for us when were a battling lower league team. After all his hard work getting us up to the Premier League he was clearly out of his depth. The club have to do what’s best for the football club in the long term and changing a manager to take the club to the next level is always going to be a difficult decision.

Come on...Warnock just achieved an amazing 0-0’defeat against the massive...blows your theory out of the water somewhat...

It needn't be long term. Any one defeat, or a short win-less run, will be enough ammunition for some folks. Remember on here at the start of last season? "job's too big for Wilder" thread after 2 games?

Indeed they will. The likelihood is that we'll plateau at some point, and there will be plenty of folk who think we need to shake things up and move on.

Managers do get stale at clubs, but the best managers are those who are able to build more than one successful team. Wilder deserves that chance. And he deserves the time to do it without earache from malcontents. That might mean a season or more of treading water.

We allowed Warnock to do it and he rewarded us. I think Wilder should get that time, and get it free from the abuse Warnock got.

Warnock was an embarrasing plank though at times

I think Wilder will get a long period of grace when we plateau at some point, and I think he will deserve that at the very least.

I also think that Wilder is evolving his next team already, the squad looks a lot stronger and there is a lot quality in that there was at the start of the season, and he has been proactive rather than reactive,

One huge difference when we hit a plateau is that when we did it under Warnock, Warnock made himself the centre of attention whilst not openly or honestly addressing the problems we had. Wilder will be open and honest about it all, without all the bullshit designed to take attention away from matters on the pitch.

Wilder probably won’t panic buy 10 centre forwards either

without going off topic Watford have just proved, how fickle football fans can be, end of nov allegedly turned down £15m from everton & now they just sacked marco silva

but yes I remember that rebuilding season wasn't 03/04 high expectations after play off final & 2 semis previous years didn't we finish a boring 9th

We started well in 03/04,but it all fizzled away towards the end of the season, however we did still have a slim chance of getting in to the play offs at the end of the season.

That was the season we signed Paul Shaw from Gillingham and he was lauded by Warnock as being the next Dennis Bergkamp.......

marco silva didn’t get them promoted though did he?
