Outgoing? Chris Wilder

When will this club move forward and realise that the good old "Sheffield United Way" isn't the way of modern football?

19 out of 20 Premier League clubs and the majority of the Championship clubs had Directors of Football or Sporting Directors last season. Just like the majority of clubs around Europe. Football in the U.K. has been playing "catch up" for years and there are still many Blades who can't come to terms with it. In the modern structure at those numerous clubs the manager, (another out dated description), should be "coach", doesn't have the final say. Contribute yes final say no!!! The coach just like Wilder is an employee of club and should work within the structure in place in the club. That should be in the job description not oh "I'm a life long Blade so I can do as I like". If Wilder cannot accept what his employer, who pays his wages, may want then bye bye Bramall Lane, try a job in the lower echelons of Football where there are still clubs without DoF or SpDirs. and allow OUR club to move forward.
As they say here in the good ol' southern U-nited States.."your lips to God's ears"

Wilder hasn't had the final say since we had a transfer committee. Neither have the other managers. People have been duped by the book passers on said committee who voted through the bad transfers (and the good ones) and then tried to exculpate themselves from any blame for the bad ones (a cautionary tale re transfer committees btw). That's not to say the football staff (including the manager) had no say on transfers, they did.

The last bit could change.

Re Mcburnie: Isn't it an open secret that he was signing until the takeover got held up? That the new owners were in favour?

Hot of the press!!! The transfer committee have arranged a trip round cemeteries all round the UK to see what they can "dig up".

So you didn't find his speech after the last derby win both motivational for us, whilst at the same time an even handed put down for them.

I thought it was genius.

There are so many constantly belittling him even abusing him on social media, that if I were in his position I would wonder about continuing.

Only 92 points.
Only second highest number of victories in the league.

Not exciting enough.
Not good enough.

I wonder if Sunderland fans are calling for Le Bris to be sacked for being so negative in the first half?
It was genius at the time, but considering our capitulation the following month, it made him look like a clown.

If you see a manager who amasses 92 points and the second highest win tally in the league as a clown, I suspect that your future of supporting the Blades will only bring you disappointment.

He thought the job was done. All this talk about how to wins games of football, then subsequently had no idea how to win those games of football.

As for 92 points, great if the end goal is achieved, unfortunately it wasn't and for the most part the football was dull.

'Motivational for us' NO. It was the narcissistic ramblings of a man who 'leads' half of the city's football fan base, and was playing both to them and, again, to his own ego. It was utterly unnecessary, patronising to a club going through a bad time and bit him, and us, squarely on the a*se at Wembley. A 'leader' who then left his own team out on the pitch to deal with defeat while he went straight down the tunnel.

No, not having that. IF he stays he should be told to get on with being the manager of our football club, leave his childish emotions about about us v them at home and turn those 92 points into promotion and try not to cock it up again.

We weren't a great team last season, but some of you Wilder haters must be in la la land with parts of this criticism.

In 2023/24 we were a horror show of a team, largely due to the lack of budget and lack of decent players - not so much the management. To turn it around and be a solid team that grinds over 90 points in the Championship, is some job, even if were head-scratching and frustrating at times.

Did we ever really know they were deciding Wilders future ?

All i have seen is an article in Football insider that said it was happening. An article that was written by the same journalist that said Russell Martin had reached agreement to be the new Leicester manager. Russell Martin is the new Rangers manager !!
Maybe he had? Then Rangers came in.

Wasn’t Wilder going to Charlton as we went in for him 1st time?

Wilders on holiday in Ingoldmells, he's off to karaoke in Summerlands, later after been on Fosters at 2 quid a throw in Sealands all aft.

Besides the manager and owners are in different timezones so nowt will get done till they're in sync
Rosen and Russo are in Skegness tonight,
Vern has seen them.

They’re playing prize Bingo and Russo has won a cuddly Ironman on the grabbers.

I think they’re off for a fish supper soon…

Never mind the ‘Vern has seen them ‘ bit , I’m more ITK than you on this as an old pal spent the evening with them and tells me they are loving every minute of it .

Tomorrow , both have booked an early morning call to go for a dip in the sea to bring back memories of previous vacations on the Gulf Coast in Florida .

If there is any truth to Wilder’s future being decided this last week, I’d expect that we’d hear something early Monday/Tuesday. 8 weeks today new season starts and that will fly by - particularly if we need a new manager!!!

No players sold
No pre season fixtures
No kit

Sure will all get sorted
