We managed to get our man Oli on the inside (as it were) of a new League of 72 programme, the highlights of which our below and feature Chris Wilder talking about Sheffield United.

Chris Wilder reveals the succession plan for when he left Sheffield United

You really are extremely bitter towards our greates ever manager

He spoke more sense than Paul southgatebottom has in the last 12 months in that one video
I'd rather support and back the current blades manager then an ex manager Fallow. Don't get your dislike to Hecky. Best win ratio.

I like both I just can see further than my nose

I think Hecky will take us us however I don’t have much faith for us in the Prem with him in charge

Both had the strengths and weaknesses but one thing is for certain. I'd trust Hecky with the wallet in the PL much more than I did Wildthing. He didn't half blow a wedge of cash on some crap when we were last there. I mean, Rodwell and Morrison for fucks sake. £23m on Brewster...

If we do go up and Hecky gets some decent monty to spend, I'm confident that they will be solid signings and even if not enough to keep us up, we will be looking a very tidy outfit for the next term in the Championship. Some of CWs signings were absolutely baffling even at the time they were made.

Bar Anel all our best players are wilder signings

FACTS

There’s better ways of handling your departure but that said one thing about CW he showed passion Hecky comes across more relaxed, playing style id say we score more now but are stupidly open at the back but if you’re going to get promotion it’s about goals if we reach the Premiership then we’re going to have to change, the Premiership will be ready for us just as much as we’ll be experienced but again we’re going to need better midfield additions (for the 3rd season in a row)

I think it was a perfect storm of Covid (no crowds as CW states) , Rammo instead of Hendo, & JOC's injury unbalancing the team as we seemed to play it down the right missing out the left side. We still weren't hammered it tended to be an odd goal.

However where CW messed up big was continually arguing with the owner which took him away from the first team. Without giving names away this is what I heard from the club (the arguing bit).

I like us now, I like Hecky, it's good football, how he's managed to cope with the injuries has been incredible. Hopefully he can utilise the returners and keep us in the top two.

I don't want to forget what Chris WIlder did for us though we were fucking shit in league 1 when he arrived and now we are still benefitting from the parachute payments from his promotion / Prem status of 2 seasons, and majority of the squad he recruited.

Hecky's recruitment has been great with Doyle, Clark and Anel with hopefully McAtee and Khadra likely to play a excellent part in the second half of the season and good backup with Davies. So also want move forward with Hecky but respect the massive part CW played making us a better club.

I still blame Covid not Chris.
I think any fan would agree covid was the main factor ! Losing our twelve man killed us .
Just so disappointing CW
kinder lost his way ! The fans and club would have stuck by him after relegation.
A lot of what he built came crashing down when he decided to resign and ask for a golden hand shake,
That is what disappoints me most! the squad was strong so getting straight back was on the cards.
The fallout with the prince seems to be crucial here!
He was supported well in the market and he made some poor signings (no manager gets em all right)
It seems the prince couldn't support him to the level he wanted.
He did a great job for us! I find it hard to understand why he demanded a big pay off to go.
I don't beleave the prince wanted him to go(what CW did he could have done again the players were there).
I don't know all the facts but to go out the back door, ( that's something he said he wouldn't do ) as he did tarnished his image.
I feel sure the club and CW regret what happened really.
We now have another good manager who is doing a great job (the squad is stronger now than CW,s was ) and have a great chance of promotion! hopefully we can bring in a player or two in the window to give us a push!

I watched this a few days ago, I don’t know who Oli is, but my instinctive feeling was that he got the short straw. The panel was made up of a fan of each of the top four clubs in the Championship, but he was the only one talking in the presence of the ex-manager of his club, that struck me as an inhibitor.

Oli may not have felt that way, but he certainly couldn’t have talked freely or critically about Wilder in a way that the others could about their ex-managers.

You’ve kind of taken Skysports content & put it through as your own….
They asked us to share this to help promote their League of 72 YouTube channel. We have a great relationship with them. I wouldn't have done it unless it was that way.

There's a link to the full video on this video for that very reason.

This lad from Roy's "Pre-match View from Wigan" has got a point though:

“I remember when we panned Nigel Adkins’ Sheffield Utd at the Lane in February 2016.. ..I remember being shocked at just how shit they were... Chris Wilder took over that summer.
What he did to get that shower to the Premier League within the next three seasons (and have them mid-table before the pandemic hit) is probably one of the best jobs I’ve seen from a manager.”

And you are extremely negative towards our current Manager, who has us sat in second place in the Championship with a great chance of pushing on towards promotion in the second half of the season.

What is it Fallow, do you want us to fail so that Hecky can in no way be compared to CW?

There is nothing to disagree with in that post. It’s from that point of time on though..

That's fair enough, apologies for the 'arsey comment' however I couldn't work out why you'd just shared their content. Usually, you put your own spin on it.

I don't understand Anyone who doesn't appreciate what wilder did for our club , yes the way it ended wasn't great , yes some of the signings haven't worked out( show me a manager who gets every signing right) but he dragged our club from the pits of league one to the prem, whilst playing some decent football

Might not seem much to some but he's put us back in the spotlight in a big way. Our social media following blew up when we held our own at the top table and it's still alive and kicking. Young people from every corner of the globe have been introduced to the mighty Blades. For those of us who stuck with it during the league one years it's no more than we deserved and the fair weather fans fell back in love. Hoping we do it all again next year!

Totally agree.

Sometimes I don't particular like parts of Wilders personality, he's a bit ego statistical and salty when he loses, Warnock was the same.
However lots of "winners" like Mourinho and Ferguson have a darker side to their personality because they hate losing and take it personal.

However as you say....all the personal stuff about Wilder, as a person is pretty much irrelevant.
Also let's be honest here.....Wilders pre and post match interviews were refreshing for their honesty....always interesting to listen to his feedback.

Wilder was the person responsible for taking this club off it's knees and knocking on the door of European football playing attractive football.
Anyone who does that instantly becomes a club legend....so I'll always be appreciative and massively grateful to Wilder and Knill.
