Can't remember how long the interview was in the link I posted but try this. I would have thought it was longer than 3 minutes but could be wrong.



EDIT - No that isn't the full one, it doesn't have his superb bit where he talks about him walking through town, getting his hair cut, getting a sandwich etc

You can shove your... Robson's ineptitude, replacing James Beattie with Craig Beattie, Michael O'Halloran, Nigel Adkins, Baxter's drug tests, Matt Hill and Marcus Williams playing together on the left side, Hammond's uselessness, McEveley's bomb scares, signing no marks such as Westlake, McGinty and Lappin, losing to Fleetwood, playing the pace of Kitson an Ironside up front, playing Alcock at centre half, not turning up at bloody Yeovil in the playoffs, taking the most loyal set of fans for granted and wallowing in league one...and shove it up your arse! United are back, with a squad as United as I can remember, with a Blade as captain and a Blade in charge. Things couldn't be much better. Thank you lads, for putting us back on the map. Proud.

I just hope our fans show Wilder loyalty when we have a few bad results.
My personal view is that Wilders has now won himself a massive amount of goodwill, patience and loyalty.

That's one of the things I remembered about the latter end of Bassetts tenure.
There was no animosity or great cries for "Bassett out".

And although many accepted Bassett deserved to be sacked, there was still a tinge of sadness at his departure. Even now Bassett is still thought of as a Blade, such was his affect at creating a Blades United spirit within the club. Wilder has many Bassett qualities but of course Wilder plays much better "beautiful" football.

I still remember my saddest day as a Blade, when we got deservedly beat by Southend at their place, in 1995 (October?) and there were fights between the small minority of 'Bassett out' Blades and the ones who just respected and valued the guy for what he had brought us. The good times may not last forever but the memories do and both DB and CW have provided a disproportionate number during my time watching United. It would also be churlish not to mention Warnock's cup runs in 2002-3 and the Clough FA Cup run to the semis. I'd say we've had a far better time of things than our piggy neighbours but this season has taken it to new levels. For all the Bassett memories, the sheer football quality over the last three seasons has been something else. Thank you CW/AK.
