Its a yes from me. Appears that 3 charities will benefit. Its also a chance to say thanks to a loyal man, you don't get too many staying at one club for over a decade anymore.
The Geordies will bring a few thousand and with it being the weekend of Tramlines it will all add to the atmosphere.
Plus, after lasts years awful pre season, we will have a good test at home. (ON THE NEW PITCH!).
Nowt to dislike about this fixture.

UTB!!

I voted No originally as modern players generally don't need testimonials.

That was before I knew he was giving the money to charity so had I known that my vote would have been Yes.

As Digger says, new pitch, first home game for NA and decent opposition for a change

I shall wear as much sports direct gear as possible for this fixture. Newcastle are arseholes.

Nevertheless, I think it's a great idea for Morgan to get a testimonial and good practice for the team to play against Premiership opposition.

The cynic in me says, "Aha, that's why Morgs survived the recent cull."

Cracking game for him though.

Disappointed it's on Tramlines Sunday.

I mean, Chris Morgan is great and all but I'd rather go and watch the Wu-Tang Clan.

Crap, didn't realise the clash.

Seen Wu-Tang already, but was hoping to do it again.

Me as well, saw them at a festival and seen Method Man separately, too. I'll still go to them, though.

Does Carver getting the boot from Newcastle change any of this? It says on the OS that Morgs used his links with JC to sort it out?

Have the times been announced for Tramlines? As far as I can see they haven't and I'd be surprised if Wu-Tang wre on at 1pm. Not all that bothered about them myself but would be disappointed to miss Buzzcocks.

Some of the money is going to the Gary Speed Trust which is great to hear.

Well no they won't beyond at One but last year you couldn't get access to Dev Green for about an hour before Public Enemy came on because it was full. Admittedly this year it's at the Ponderosa (where the Cartwrights live) which is bigger.

All that said, it appears that only a handful of your actual Wu-Tang on on this tour anyway so it doesn't look so appealing.

I love Morgan, but can I just say before someone else does; if anyone is going to the match and has Tramlines tickets going spare I'll take them off you ;)

I don't and I'm afraid I don't travel by tram.

Sorry bud, got me a weekend pass!

Are there not still tickets on sale? they're very cheap, you know.

Oh aye, I thought they were sold out for some reason. Nice one!

Soon after Wu-Tang were announced it was erroneously reported that tickets had sold out. It was corrected a few days later I think.
