I’m sure it’s all very amicable. Being decent often has ways of repaying you that are not foreseeable at the time.

We’ll never know whether the club wanted him or not.
What we do know is that any other PL club can outbid us on wages so we have to find players that no other PL club wants.
Which makes our recruitment quite challenging and probably explains why it takes us so long to make signings.
In particular of the players we need to be in our starting 11.
Hecky did say it would be an arduous window.
