Can't remember the last Testimonial, well I can, it was TC's but I can't remember one since. Did we have one for Whithouse? Honestly thought they were thing of the past. Brilliant if he's getting one. Deserves everything the club can offer him.
Testimonials were introduced as a reward for loyal players who earned next to nothing in their career.
Today's big earning players don't really need a testimonial, any ex players that are given one should donate a big chunk to charity.

Love the way he describes it here, as a big send-off for all the players of that era who left without fanfare or after long injuries - he mentions Sharp, O'Connell and Enda but I'd put Duffy in that bracket too, sure we all thought he would be in that first Premier League squad.

Chris Morgan had his against Newcastle in 2015, he only played about 10 minutes at the end though.

Mentions quite a few names in the interview.

Duffy, Sharp, O'Connell, Martin Cranie, Egan, Enda, think he mentioned James Beattie as well.

Just saw that Michael Brown played and scored in a Spurs Vs AC Milan legends match the other day.

Spurs legend! 😂
Was surprised when I saw him playing, same with Vorm in goal as well.

They had Berbatov upfront, who to me is more Man U legend than Spurs legend.

A bit nostalgic seeing Cafu and Pirlo playing for Milan again.

Dane Whitehouse had one at the end of the 00/01 season.

The Current side vs Bassett era side, Warnock put himself up top and bagged a brace.

We played Malmo in one. I could be wrong but it might have been 1st time kop opened. Think it was Stancliffe.

I'll stand corrected I was only 11. But seem to recall the above.

Edit. Just seen list above.

Yep. Malmo was Stancliffe. Usually we play Wednesday or an All Stars team, but as well as Malmo, we had Forest for Harris, Ipswich (his previous club) for Tibbott, Boro for Tracey and Newcastle for Morgan.

Dave Bassett played at right back for about 20 minutes doing a lot of running before he got out of breath, TC didn't last long as he suffered from a pulled muscle

Not that it matters in a testimonial bit wasn't it something like 6 or 7 - 1 to Malmo.

Now you mention TC that brings back a vague recollection

Same day as the PoTY do... Might be a "tired and emotional" weekend if we do go up.

Yea and they took it very seriously, surrounding the ref when we scored a blatantly offside goal to pull a goal back.

They had their first team out and we included a long retired Edwards and Morris!

Everyone should be their for the legend Bash!

I need to forget my last memories of Fulham away where he got injured 😟
