Mester Wilder in fine fettle here pre-Millwall.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p05pnl9p

Baldock been training this week, decision to be made today about whether he'll be involved. Acknowledges we've missed him (& Freeman) as specialised wing-backs.

Praises Lundstram for Fulham & Burmingham performances. "Got to believe in the way we're playing, believe in the players we've got".

Behind closed doors friendly v Oldham on Tuesday with lots of fringe players involved. Heneghan a long-term project, likely to go out on loan in January. Doesn't want a bloated squad.

"Keep going Leon; head down keep going"...

New contracts not about warding off interest from other teams - about rewarding players for their performances.

Millwall - tough place to go ("get your crash helmets on"), a good side with a different style of playing to us, brought good players in over the summer, good record at the Den. Looking forward to it.

Says he went to watch Man City v Southampton last night.

We'll be scouting Kevin De Bruyne and Shane Long.

Wilder: "I'm working Wednesday night love. Got to over to Manchester and watch a game"
Mrs Wilder: "Oh, poor you. Never mind, I'll have something nice ready for you when you get home"

Me: "I was thinking about going to the match next February love"
Mrs Greasy: "What, again? You only just went in 2016. Well go if you want, but don't expect me to be here when you get back"

Interesting though that he didn't deny the possibility of Clarke getting a new contract.

See that Neil Harris has said that United "have a talented squad and a lot of resources".

Think it's fair to say that Millwall spent more on buying players than we did pre-season.

Not according to this...

Looking at who Millwall signed I'd agree they are probably one of the few who don't have our resources, I was goingto say I'm surprised if it's as high as 3.2m but a brief moment of thought:
Stearman 900k
Lundstram 700k
Heneghan 400k
Evans although reported at 500 is probably 300k (with add ons)
Donaldson was 50k (i seem to remember reading somewhere)
Baldock + Thomas -doesn't seem outrageous to hang the other 800k on them.

So as net spend goes, we spent £3.2m more than we gained from the sale of DCL, Jake Eastwood (and anyone else)

Presumably you mean Ramsdale? Anyway, they were last season not this shirley?

I think I married a closet Wendy fan as well

Whoops sorry, yeah Ramsdale. Getting mixed up with names and dates.

Did we raise any funds close season? Done back to Rochdale £100k?

I think Done was about it.

I rather just marry the closet than a Wendy fan ;)
I married a Wendy. Best thing I ever did. She loved the Hull semi and was cheering along as much as the rest of us.

However she never seems to enjoy my semi. Perhaps at Crab Industries we could begin marketing a Viagra type medication under the Crab Pharma brand.

If Baldock is still not fit enough to play, I would be seriously tempted to play Lafferty at right wing-back.
As CW says, wing-back is a very specialised position and Lafferty is that specialist albeit usually on the other wing.
That would allow Basham to revert back to his usual position of right-sided centre back.
Lafferty can cut in on to his left foot with Basham overlapping outside him.
I think this might be a better combination overall than Basham at right wing-back and CCV behind him but not very effective at going forward.

Is that why you're called String, String?

Sell on fees. There is no way we had a net spend of £3.2m this pre season.

In recognition of my duty of care to my people, I have consulted the best (and due to being struck off the cheapest) Psychologist money can buy, Dr Henrich Von Krabbe.

Dr Von Krabbe suggests that whilst your good lady loves you very much, when you are "storming the trenches", subconsciously she still cannot come to terms to the fact that you support a superior team, thus inhibiting her performance.

In short, it's not your fault.

You might not like Dr Von Krabbe's suggestion, but he goes on to say that if you paint yourself orange, poorly play an instrument and have an overinflated opinion of your teams place in the scheme of things, you will be back on track and the Mrs will be wetter than a fucked fridge (a psychological term I believe).
