Partial takeover plans supposedly being discussed with a "Chinese investor". "Chinese Investment" is all that was mentioned, so it'd be logical to presume it to be one of the two McCabe has partnered up with away from the club recently.

A few rumours of not so good news in January have already surfaced, and these are supposedly as a result of some of the plans contained as a part of the deal. Didn't specify what those were.

Now this comes from the source of information producing the "Harlee Dean" rumour thread among other bits and bobs transpiring to be false, so as always take with quite a considerable pinch of salt. The first part of the rumour has me mildly hopeful, not so much the second.

Although it is slightly believable, all seems a bit far fetched to me.

Prince disappearing, Chinese coming in. 200 flats being built on BL site, we are moving to a new stadium in Attercliffe. All to be announced in January.

Same bloke said Baxter was done at the club.

I thought he'd have tried to do this a couple of years back and believe it's always been on the agenda, but what I don't get is why you'd not just build the 200 flats at Attercliffe if the HS2 terminal ends up a mile or so away at Mhall?

It's 2+2 = 257438 Raul. There's a project to build 200 flats with the Chinese ( plus other projects) and the Eagles are looking at a stadium in S9 so automatically MxCabe is moving us out of BL.
All being announced in January apparently.
There's a thread about it in this section already that Barney must have missed.

Reg Brearley was recently seen with a Chinese man that used to be a woman, that used to be an Arabic Sheikh looking at some plans of the lane... alegedly

Seldom has a bigger crock of shit been posted on here. Bravo Barney, you've surpassed yourself again.

It would be great if we could attract some significant investment but I doubt the Chinese rumours are true. The bit about moving to Attercliffe is ludicrous and clearly made up.

I certainly wouldn't call it "ludicrous" and I've always suspected that it may have been part of McCabe's long term "fall back" option.

If he had managed to make us a stable Premier League club, like so many similar sized former competitors with decent owners (Leicester, Palace, Stoke, Southampton, West Brom, Norwich, Swansea etc) then he probably wouldn't even be considering this. But he's a businessman, in construction, we're languishing and he wants to see some significant returns on investment. The land we sit on is worth an awful lot.

I'd be gutted if this happened, it would rip the heart and soul out of the football club but it honestly wouldn't surprise me in today's football and economic era.

I think the news about McCabe and the Chinese construction company (which is all true) have somehow been changed to the Chinese are buying Sheffield United. On saying that, the Chinese bloke in question is worth billions and could buy us from his back pocket change probably!

The land is in the accounts at a cost of £25-£27 million. To clear it and build the mooted 200 homes on it would mean they'd be very very expensive for S2 so unlikely from that point of view. But even if he did manage to sell them and make a profit, who will pay for the building of a new ground and surrounding infrastructure, the Chinese?

Err they are building 200 flats, Well 695 actually. Between Bramall Lane and London Road. All approved by the Council and that. Also building a 25 restaurants and more. It will be known as Chinatown.

That's a year old and prior to McCabes Chinese link up.
The 200 homes reported to be built by Scarborough/Chinese is a separate development.

I thought the tie up with the Chinese was for an expansion of the digital campus near the bus station. There have announced a big housing scheme for Salford/Manchester which has upset Peel a bit as they are the big players in the area and it seems Scarborough and the Chinese are going into their territory. Not seen or heard anything about houses around BL other than the Chinatown development. So it is a case of 2+2 = a lot more than 4?

The rumour spread is that the homes are being built at BL and we are moving to S9.
The original thread was on BM from a known bullshitter who claims to be close to the club.
There's a thread on here where TomJonesBlade mentions it and then gives chapter and verse on what the same guy told him he'd heard. The bloke hates McCabe and I'm sure people just wind him up just to get him to post shite.

There is a tie in re the digital campus and plans for 200 homes. Can't recall seeing where they are to be built but it suits some people to tell everyone it's on the BL site.

He also said, like others, that Baxter was finished at the club and that his "sources at the club" had told him.
Seems none of these "sources" bothered telling him about Baxter being a sub Saturday.

It is a three site tie-up. One in Salford/Manchester which is 2000 flats and a lot of commercial area costing around £700m, a £400m mixed use project at Thorpe Park in Leeds which includes "upto 300 houses", and the £40m Digital campus project in Sheffield.

I suspect someone has read the Leeds report, seen that it includes houses and a hotel, and tried to mingle this with the Chinatown project putting a lot of assumptions in place and coming out with total bollocks.

It would be great if we partially owned china
I bagsy shenzhen

Having been unfortunate enough to spend time there, you're welcome to Shenzhen.

I'd take Xian if Chinese cities are up for grabs.

I've heard a rumour that, once the deal goes through, a copy of this will be handed out to each & every Blade -

Memorisation will be compulsory! Specially trained stewards will be carrying out tests on entry through the turnstiles - penalties for failure to memorise will be severe & merciless (up to & including banishment to the outer reaches of S6)!

A lot of the rumours discussed on this thread are utter tripe, however from speaking to people connected with my place of work (legal industry) I wouldn't totally dismiss Chinese involvement.

That's exactly what most are saying, utter tripe. The Chinese are already involved with Scarborough, are you saying they are getting involved with the football club?

My ex was from shenzhen she obviously was a bit biased when talking about it
