Would horse racing be as popular if betting wasn't involved? Probably not, but you can say similar things about a lot of sports.

Would watching people run round a track be as popular if it wasn't an Olympic sport? Would anyone watch someone do laps of a pool if Olympic medals weren't at stake?

Basically you can come up with any stupid comment to trivialise any sport, hobby or past time.

Basketball,what a boring sport

One of the great sporting double headers of our time.

Anyone else thinking about doing both on March 14th?

Good timing with Chelthenham being on so 4 of us going down for racing and then to watch the Blades - really looking forward to this!

Have a great day.

Brain Power for the Champion Hurdle - you heard it here first - and Limini for the Mares' race. Stick them in a treble with the Mighty Blades at Swindon and you've more than paid for the day.

The traffic can be brutal after racing finishes, though. I'm not sure I'd be stopping to watch the last race if I wanted to be certain of getting to the match in time for kick-off.

Here we go...

Tight schedule today. First job is dropping the car in Swindon.

Limini for the Mares' race

I can't agree as easily as that. Vroum Vroum Mag has been disappointing this season but she won well enough last time. And what's the other one, is it Apple's Jade, she's no mug.

After years and years of Quevega domination, it's nice to see a relatively open Mares' hurdle!

Ballyandy Altior Brain Power the Young Master Limini Genie in a Bottle Two Taffs are my bets for the day.
