Well he should certainly be in contention if we can count that performance the other night.

We need someone who's going to get in and around Chelsea's midfield and annoy the hell out of them :)

Supppose that it all depends on how Neil wants to approach the game, i personally don't think there is much to choose between Leggy and Monty but would prefer to stick Quinny in the middle and bring Webber or Kabba in on the left.

I am assuming that we will persevere with the 4-5-1/4-3-3 formation of late.

United welcome back influential defender Claude Davis from a one-match ban as Neil Warnock's side prepare for the visit of champions Chelsea to Bramall Lane on Saturday.

Davis, whose pace and strength at the back are a major asset to the Blades, is available for selection after sitting out United's Carling Cup third round tie against Birmingham City in midweek due to his sending off at Everton last weekend.

Warnock said that, apart from a doubt over the fitness of Colin Kazim-Richards (knee strain), United are at full strength for what is a tough proposition against the champions.

He said: "There's nothing untoward. Colin has a bit of a knock, but everyone's 100 per cent. Hopefully we'll be unchanged if everything's OK."

Midfielder Nick Montgomery and striker Danny Webber are both pushing for a prized place in Warnock's starting line-up after playing in the cup game on Tuesday.

Warnock added that he is likely to continue with Rob Hulse as a lone striker in front of an attacking midfield against Chelsea.

He said: "The way we play, Rob does get support at times, but we don't see enough of that. If Rob played with a partner right up there then we may not have enough creativity from midfield. I want us to take our opportunities because if we don't score goals then we're not going to stay up."

Meanwhile, in the Chelsea camp, defender Ricardo Carvalho, midfielder Frank Lampard and strikers Andriy Shevchenko and Didier Drogba are all set to be restored to the Blues' line-up against the Blades.

The quartet was rested in Chelsea's 2-0 Carling Cup Third Round win at Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday night.

Joe Cole, who netted the Blues' first goal in that game, comes into contention for Saturday's match after making his first start of the season following a knee medial ligament injury. Salomon Kalou grabbed Chelsea's other goal on Wednesday.

Third-choice goalkeeper Hilario is expected to retain the number one jersey although Carlo Cudicini hopes to declare himself fit. Petr Cech is definitely out.
______

i think we should play 4-4-2 though

The lads put in a great perforamce, first half especially, but the second goal killed us. But yet another penalty missed that had no power, get some power on them you dont see lampard tapping them...oh wait he tapped and missed one in the world cup  i also thought hulse should of took it, he's the confident one scoring goals. but all in all i think we 'made a good account of ourselves':D.

Chelsea didnt even need to break sweat mate, your easily pleased thats all i will say.

Awful tactics from the fool in charge of us, WHY THE FOOK DO YOU NOT HAVE THE BALLS TO PLAY 2 UPFRONT! EVEN WHEN WE ARE 2-0 DOWN!!

Webber was shocking, bromby is a centre half playing at right back and Leggy is a league 1 player.

When Monty is one of our best players it tells you something.

We are going down without a fight, the man in charge is out of his depth and seems to enjoy making a fool out of himself when comparing himself to the special one.

There is 0% movement off the ball, 10% skill and 90% running around chasing the ball. We dont look like scoring and when we get the chance we bottle it. I know is was chelsea but its been like this every game bar about 1.

We are a very poor side.

Sharpy either admit your not a Blades fan, cos you never come across as one or give me a good reason your so bloody negative about everything and everyone at United!
Why do support them when all you do is slag them off?

Chelsea showed why they are champions, they grind out results.
We played better first half than second granted, but we did put in the effort all through the game.
They were very organised so that any movement we had (and we did have some) was covered.

The one thing that pissed me off today was the freekick decisions.
Our players stay on there feet when thay are fouled a lot of the time and fouls arn't given the Chelsea players go straight down whether they are fouled or not (i.e. they dive) they get the decisions we don't. Will this encourage our players to start throwing themselves to the floor in future games? I hope not because I hate that part of the game. Ref's should know what is and isn't a foul without a player having to hurl himself to the floor. (Rant over)

Thought we held our own and were undone by one set piece that wasn't a foul and a good cross that could have resulted in a freekick to us for pushing in the back but didn't (and I'm not complaining about that cos in what i'd call proper football it wouldn't be a foul).

sharpy, you are an arsehole. i suppose you watched on prem plus today? or did that cost too much to spend on united. the blades did ace first half, second we ran out of steam. we were playing chelsea not rushden and diamonds.

i dont think we could have asked for much more from united, deffiantly need to get them pens in but apart from that nowt too much to be arguing about.

y are we easily pleased they ran there socks off n all u do is moan bwt it first half we were defo the beter of the teams n a luki deflection let them score. #yer decisions did go agenst us aswell but end of day i nevrer fort we was going to win so im quite happy wi the result. we also showed that we arnt out of our depth because some of the better teams have been humilitated by cheksea at home and we havent.
all i can say is if we keep playin like we haev done past few weeks i think we stay up but struggle slightly

Sharpy, shut your face, we just played the CHAMPIONS, did you really expect us to go out and beat them 5-0? Oh wait, no even if we did that you'd still be finding something to throw a childish tantrum over, why don't you just go back to bed with Koumas and Francis you immature childish twat.

Its got nothing to do with it being chelsea, does that mean we cant put 2 passes together without either hitting it long to hulse or out of play? Pretty much every game has been the same, lots of effort but not at all enough quality from the players or manager.

Im not happy with losing every game and not scoring. Obviously some are. Running around and putting effort in will not keep us up.

Ive got a season ticket keenzy.

Who for, Wednesday?

i saw us put more than 2 passes together on several occasions.

Webber's form worried me today.

I'd prefer an unpredictable Nade to Webber in that form.

i fort we did well agenst a much better quality team than us tbh. sharpy wot match was u watching in first half??????

I'm worried about his form too, I think I've gone and cursed him by getting his name on the back of my shirt. :(

I'd go for Nade too, he's got strength and quick as well and when he came on for Webber against Blackburn he did quite well.

we were a kiddys electric car today we had two gears slow and fast chelsea were a a big truck theyhad 16 gears but didnt need to get out of 3rd they cruised it and they knew they would get the points from the begining you could see the way that hey were passing,we couold of had them finished by the end of the 1st half but it just wasnt happening as it hasnt all season, but it was better than i expeceted i was thinking 5 or 6 to be honest ladi dadi cba to type any more

sorry if this dont make sense im a little tipsy lol

You score a pen against Chelsea and you're a hero, you miss and everyone comes out saying we need penalty practise next week. From where I was sat it looked like the keeper went to early and a few people said this but since I saw no protests from the players I take it he didn't. I wouldn't have wanted to take a pen against Chelsea but it could have done with a bit more conviction putting into it.

bought myself a home top to cheer me up from the result :)

we clearly do need penalty practice, missed two at blackburn and one today! If it was me someone else wouldv'e taken the kick, someone like Monty, or Jags who would hit it hard down the middle.

we were lacking balls today, we need two upfronty and the courage to shoot instead of bringing the ball into the box and losing iot again. Last season the likes of tonge, quinn, Monty and jags would have a go from range. What going on folks. (Oh and before you have a go at me i am a genuine blade fan, i was a regular last season but cos of uni i ain't been much this.)

Not trying to make excuses but.............

Watching the match again did anyone notice that Lampard had pinched about 6 yards for his free kick?

Also the amount of time the Chelsea players argued at the penalty decision and Terry in particular goading Webber was a bit naughty.

If they are some of the best players in the world they shouldn't have to stoop to such levels.

I thought when they chased the ref in the second half it was disgraceful, that shouldn't be allowed at all.

I thought Hulse would have taken it, even though his was saved against Blackburn it was a good penalty and what's the best way to get over a penalty miss? Take the next one and try to score this time. Happened to Lampard not so long back. But if Hulse doesn't want to take them we need to find someone quick.

What summed it up for me, was the referee lecturing either Quinny or Leigertwood about not running into the area before he'd kicked the penalty.... whilst a certain John Terry was stood for a couple of minutes having a word in Webbers ear and completely ignored.

I said Hulse should of taken it, he's scoring the goals so would be the most confident.

And the way the Chelsea players surrounded the referee was discraceful, it shouldn't be allowed...im sure it isn't actually.

Practising penalties in training can help but you don't put it in a match situation its different alot more pressures on their shoulders!

some say that they should hammer it down the middle but if they did that and missed everyone would be saying that they need to pick a spot!

i agree with that 100%

i also think that it should of been hulse taking the pen failing that then jags look at the way lampard takes pens absoloutlry cains it i bet he hasnt missed many like that

Agree with that i dont like the fact webber took it cant remember him taking themin the past

.... waits for some one to prove him wrong!

also i dont remember webber properley rocketing balls he can hit them yeah but not with the conviction other palyers can

You cant defend the players on missing 3 penaltys in 10 games. Thats not because of pressure, its because of lack of mental strength.
