Depends dublin 10 blade......are you talking giving or receiving? Each to their own, but I much prefer to be on the receiving end

Cloughy's Old Man and boo radley?
:)

Very good team performance today mate. I enjoyed it and that's a rarity this season.

Nigel is turning this old juggernaut around. We are very lucky to have him. Patience will be required, though.

Thanks Pinchy, and I completely agree mate. Often fans tend to simplify problems, but I suspect we're both aware of what Nigel has to do. There will be some things that are never made public, such as the size of budgets (including wages and agents fees) that are provided for the manager. I also think that until we see the extent of the Prince's commitment we're in the dark about what is, or isn't, achievable.

As I've made clear, my circumstance prevents me from attending games as often as I'd like. I probably get to about 8-10 home games a season, but the beauty of this site allows me to remain in touch when I'm stuck at home. Although I've only been here a short time, this place seems about as good as a forum as is currently available, so well done to Foxy and Linz, a great resource for all Blade's fans......you are, of course, correct about young Nigel, he seems like one of the better ones we've had so long may the relationship last. UTB

We are still very much a work in progress and there is still a long way to go but the signs are there that we are moving in the right direction.

In the short term, all i want to see is us continuing to be hard to beat and some more performances similar to yesterday.

Weir'll certainly be in the top 6 and I'll now predict it - Top 2. Those who are conceding top spot to Wolves will be in for a surprise.

A triumph of hope over experience I'm afraid. David Weir might very well finish in the top two, though, assisting a complete nonentity. I guess it shows how important it is to have good footballers, doesn't it?

In which case may I bring to your attention the Ignore feature.

Simply click on the poster you want to ignore, ten click ignore.

You then won't see any of his posts, or indeed threads started by him...
That must the button our lass clicks cause she ignores everything I say , why ya buying that , we have some of that at home . The only time she listens to what I have to say is when I say Im going for a pint . :D

Thing is, if you and I were to name our all time top ten footballers besides the obvious number one and lets say before 2000, then I would think our lists would be very similar if we gave it not much thought. Reason being that in an instant you think of goalscorers and midfield players. Now that last sentence leads us to consider say
Lev Yashin, Bobby Moor and Franz Beckenbauer. On this basis I would suggest that nearly everyone's footballing principles are the same. Some however have a more realistic expectation instead of a dream. Nothing wrong with a dream except very few end up living it.
All on here would love us to end up playing like Liverpool or Man City are at the moment, - Bit too high? try Southampton or how Swansea were last season. Still years away. So lets suggest if we could only get back to Danny Wilson s first season would that do?
Again stop trying to suggest that you are some kind of football purist and you can see a higher level that most cannot - it's tiresome.

Go on then find them. Realistically affordable to our situation please.

I sat at home following the thread on s24su, sounded like a good performance, pity about letting in a goal, but can't complain with 3-1. Yet after the game, what do we get? One or two come on complaining. Context guys, context. A few months back we were looking contenders for the drop, and even though we are still the wrong side of the halfway point, results like today were unthinkable then, so chins up, stop moaning, and remember that adage about a glass half full UTB!!!

It was one of our better performances this season but we were helped by scoring the first two goals at the right time and not having to contend from coming back from a goal down. I think if Lowe put his chance away in the first half it would have been a completely different game.

We are such a mentally weak team, things have to go our way or we don't win, I would be interested to know the last time we came from a goal down to win a game. I'm probably wrong but I think the last time was against Port Vale in the early rounds of the cup last season (about a year ago!)

But I'm not knocking the team, 3 well taken goals and could have scored more, well done Cloughie!

On a technicality though if a glass is half full it is also half empty!

I suggest the point you are making is in our current plight the glass is certainly getting fuller whilst under Weir it was down to the dregs. Thus in that context I totally agree with you.

There are certainly reasons to be optimistic rather than pessimistic. On current form 13/14th position seems probable.

For what its worth, that kind of personal baiting won;t be tolerated here. If he keeps it up, he will be banned.

Thanks Darren. This goes back way back to Blade Mad, so not that surprising he thought he could continue once he arrived on here. I saw he'd signed on and avoided him, but it's a shame he couldn't have acted similarly.
I took Selly's advice and used the 'ignore' facility. So far it's working a treat, although it hasn't prevented EBM trying to contact me afterwards.

Appreciate your comments mate, I like this site and hope to be here a long time, all the best for 2014 UTB

Luckily we have an excellent manager who will do that far better than I ever could. Let's see how many mediocre former Blades he recruits, shall we?

Thanks SellyOakBlade, but once the ignore facility was in place it's kept him out of my hair. There was one further post from him, but I ignored so no reason to take this further. Many thanks for your help, it means a lot mate, here's to a better new year for all of us.

NO. Lets see you pick some players who you beleive are 'real footballers' as you put it and pick some for our level if you have the balls to put yourself on the line?

I am a considerably cheered up twat thanks. This may of course be due to the Dom Perignon and strawberries. Love and kisses and all good fortune to you all.
