Note - this is a "normal" Ched thread. No references to Premier Inns, kebab houses or degrees of consent.

Some thought differently but I thought he looked strong as an ox v Malaga. Not sure how long he was on the field (15 mins?) but imo he looked eager to get involved, showed some nimble touches and was always looking to get the ball in the box or set it up for a shot. OK you can't assess a player's form from 15 mins in a pre-season friendly but I think he could be a success this season, and him and Billy playing alongside each other may be a nightmare for defenders.

If anything I actually think he looked like he was trying too hard.

Very strong and difficult to knock off the ball, but he has lost some pace and agility for sure. He'll be different to what he was before but I think he can still be successful. Still looks to have the ability to make space for a shot.

If he can remain injury free for a while then we're yet to see the best condition he's been in post prison.

Leon Clarke, Billy, Lavery and Ched, not bad options and goals in there. One thing is certain, they will be a real handful.

Ched showed last year, in his saltergate (ok proact) cameo against us that he has all the attributes which got him 30+ goals for United. Fitness is my only concern with him.

Kev Gage said on facebook that he was looking very lean in the photos from Spain. Got to agree, he looks like he's worked his bollocks off and got himself into real shape, looks more athletic - similar to Billy in that respect.

Can't wait to get this season started.

At long long last. The opportunity to pair Evans and Sharp. A 35+ goal partnership in the making if ever I saw one.

Clarke and Lavery will chip in a few as well but the prospect of these two tearing the division a new one has me looking forward to the season ahead like I haven't done for absolutely ages.

Do you mean Ched Evan's?

Personally think Lavery could be the one of breaks through next year and nothing I've seen this preseason has made me think differently.

He looks to have that extra yard of pace that none of the others have.

Next Friday should give us a better idea of his current fitness level. One thing for certain is that he'll be working his socks off (it's always been that way with him) and he'll be keen as hell to make an impact in the Championship. Some Blades fans will maybe want to see him fail so they can say "told you so", and others will be impatient to see him back to form. Chris Wilder will be more realistic and prepared to give him time. As for Ched, by now he's no doubt got skin as thick as a crocodile and a steel mental constitution so won't be fazed by any of this speculation.
The smart money should be on him to further confound the doubters.

A scum-filled shit heap?

I mean we all have our opinions on Ched, but fucking hell...

OK, maybe an exaggeration. When I said 'Hillsborough' I meant rusty, not a heap with bits falling off.

Maybe no analogy, just leave it as looking rusty. Wouldn't want to upset the Chedists! Looked fit and lean though

Hanson will also play a big part this season.

Yeah i said that on another thread as well, I think a few will be surprised.

But he's quite different to the other 4, they're all very mobile and probably with the ability to change a game quickly. Hanson, not meaning to be disrespectful, is quite one dimensional, which i think we need as well and probably most like to cause players like Terry the most problems

I thought he was alright without looking premier. In that respect i hope he shows more in the next few games, and his fitness improves so he doesn't look like his boots are filled with clay. Ton of goals I hope we can score next season with Ched being the Godfather and scoring for fun and rhylly silencing the critics. I'm sure he'll make a few defenders wet the bed the night before they face him.

Who's to say we won't have a threesome up front next season too?

At this stage, people will see what they want to see depending on whether they were for or against signing him - and this will almost certainly continue in to the season.

A few goals under his belt will boost Ched's confidence and help him regain the swagger that made him the force he was.

3-3-4? :)

-------------Bash - JOC - Stearman-------------

------Carruthers - Fleck - Coutts------

---Lavery - Billy - Clarke - Ched---
It will certainly produce high scoring games ... the jury is out if it will be us or our opponents who score the more goals.

On the money.

It really is a phenomenon with Evans. I've never known such obsession with a player.

I posted support for him on FB this week and said people need to show patience with him and let him get properly fit and up to speed. As a result two accused me of wanting him to fail. Bizarre.

Some just seem unable to consider he might not reach previous heights.
