Saw this on Twitter this evening after doing a search for Ched's Twitter page...

Someone named Canaries1902 posted saying: Rumours are claiming Ched Evans on his way back to Carrow Road on loan! What do you reckon? Good or Bad move?

This was posted yesterday (20/02/11).

So, our top scorer going out on loan. How big are our problems behind the scene, really?

When was Evans listed? Would this explain the lengthy abscence with flu or whatever he had??!!!

And the removal of the last vestiges of quality from our squad.

Pass me the rocket launcher to blow both my legs off anf finally put the tin hat on relegation

I try not to respond with panic to ITK type things but if this is true, then its absolutely insane!

Being totally PC. If that IS correct, the mentally challenged have taken charge of the care home for T M C

maybe this is a ploy to get him out to a team that he'll score goals at in order to bump up his sale price, given that he's only got one year left on his contract, and it's nigh on certain that whatever division we're in next year, Ched won't be playing for us?

He earns 1 Million pounds every year and looks like he's worth a tenth of it. Given ur problems, I fail to see why this is anything other than common sense.

More evidence that Adams is preparing for life in League One next year. Regardless, Birch has obviously been putting pressure on Adams over the wage bill. Ched, a big earner, will not be playing for us next season. If we are down (as we seem to be) then why not ship him out? Maybe he'll scpore a few and his value will rise (as Highbury says) and we will not be paying his wages. Throw Slew in up front for the remainder and see how he does.

Truly believe we'll be a better team without him.

At least shit can go on the garden to help the plants grow. Worst CF since Chris Guthrie, to say he's been poor is an understatement.

If he stayed and scored 40 goals next season he'd still owe us 30.

I wonder if Blackie 2 will ask if Birchy can be released to free up a loan player for a few months?

Good reporting from Selhurst Ollie. Enjoyed it.

A fucking disgrace - even by McCabe's pathetic standards - if true. Cresswell & Bent would be a poor strike partnership in League 2, nevermind the Championship.

So now Ched's a world beater when most were thinking he was a carpet beater?

Cannot see that happening unless there is a repalcement (perhaps Vokes is it - but he is only in for a month isn't he?) since there is no one else that has any sort of a tally in front of goal for us this season. If the likes of Kevin Phillips comes in to replace him then I will say fair enough but if he goes and no one comes in then the party is well and truly over before the fat lady gets her tits out.

Maybe Hendo is closer to recovery than we thought?
If he plays like he did vs Forest (A) a couple of season's back when he was just back from injury it will make Cresswell look like Usain Bolt.

Here's how I would play it:

We get a reliable replacement. One that we are fairly sure will do (hopefully) better for us, for the rest of the season. When that is secured, we allow him to move to Norwich until the end of the season, with an agreement in place that they have first option on him in the summer if he does well and they achieve promotion, for a fee of £2m. If we go down, that money will be fantastic in League One. If we stay up, we can easily replace him with a striker for £2m. If Adams gets to keep it all. Which he won't.

Ched out then and welcome Mr Marlon Harewood
wouldn't miss Ched as he hasn't performed well in the last 2 seasons overall.

We could have Drogba up front and we'd struggle to score.

Ched won't go anywhere, not at this stage.

Can see some more coming in and maybe other members of the squad going out, but not ched.

I'd be disgusted if we let him go, the only one who seems to be able to hit the net this season, how fucking bad are the problems?

Come on JD don't beat about the bush, tell us what you think

Doesn't matter if it happens or not, we're down with or without him. We may as well get someone else to pay some of his wages and try and get a fee negotiated. Does anyone know, if we sell him do we become liable for any of the clauses not met when we signed him from Man City?

What an awful, awful signing he has been. A little bit of good form 18 months after he arrived can't hide that.

Bit harsh Geuesty when everyone else has also been shite!

Yeah I know, had a bit of a morning headache and hence a bad mood!

My counter argument would be that not everyone else cost what Evans did. I know that doesn't automatically mean that he should play up to his price tag, but it does make his signing worse. As it happens I think he's been our best player recently (which seems to be the consensus, too) but it's not nearly enough to keep us up, or to convince me that he was a good signing.

Disagree, Drogba would be up front not hiding on the wing instead of been "up front" where he might just get hurt.

Evans = big puff

In the recent past I'd have agreed. But Ched is putting himself into the thick of it at the mo.

Oh, and Drogba is the biggest queen I've ever seen on a football pitch. :)

They would get us out of this mess! Doc Pace and Peter Width.

I think thats a bit harsh on young Ched. As soon as we started to give him some service ..... ie we sacked hoofy and brought in some football, he started to play better.
Ronaldinho would have struggled to perform under Hoofy's reign !!
When Andy Reid was here, Ched looked sooooo much better. Pity we couldn't keep him a bit longer.

Ched looked very good at Scunny and we were as direct as we've been. It highlights the lack of depth in the debate about hoofball V total football. Under Blackwell we sat very deep to avoid defeat and pumped balls forward to isolated front men. You can also be direct, but pour players foward to accept those balls. Adams, of late, is trying (but failing) to do this.

According to Soccerbase he's made 62 league appearances (44 starts) and 4 cup games (3 starts).

Whilst not a lot surprises me down at the Lane, a clause for payment on reaching 48 starts, 45 league starts, 67 total appearances or 63 league apperances would seem highly unlikely.
