....for a cut price £1M according to 'Foxes Talk'. Makes sense seeing as Ericsson had him at Citeh. Without wanting to re-open the 'how much have we actually paid for him' debate, cut and run £1M seems reasonable.

Would free up about 15-20k per week in wages, would we will need if we're bringing in quite a number of new players to the squad.

I would snatch their hand off. Ched has shown signs of improvement recently but a million quid would be far more than I would expect us to get for him.

Considering he's only got a year left to run on that contract i'd say take it take it take it!

He has been utter rubbish for us, so on yer bike feller.
No balls
No brain
useless lump of turd

Good bit of business if true. Ched looked better under Adams & Cork but he hasn't lived up to the expectations. Take 1 million and be free of his wages.

Agree with above, no brainer really. I've been one of his supporters and could see him doing well elsewhere but he hasn't really been consistently fit throughout his time with us IMO (and has an injury now) and to be fair has played in struggling teams for the most part.

Sell up, move on :)

I like Ched as very occasionally he shows some real skill but he doesn't do it often enough for me. He wouldn't be suited to League 1 either so probably best all round if we get rid. Also he seems to suffer from odd mystery injuries / illnesses ...

Good price if true BUT we must insist on a sell on clause just incase

Sell Sell Sell!

1mill is a good price considering that he hasn't really done it for us.

The words "cut price £1M" and "Ched Evans" will never be written in the same sentence again. Ever.

:D

In reality, if he goes on a free it will still be very good business.

Don't hold back Kenilworth....tell us how you really feel. :D

Not really my style Soton - still missing your bouncing beauties by the way.

Maybe there is a pussy league he can play in. For forwards with no balls and no brains and shit goalkeepers.
(That's so close to womens football that I might get shot down in flames for that by the PC brigade)

Ched - never scored a header 'cos I am Nesh - Evans

I say keep hold...

Let him run riot in league one banging 30+ goals in, then sell for around the price we paid. He'll be a VERY good striker for league one.

That's a pretty expensive gamble.

There's not a huge difference between the 2 divisions, and Evans looked out of his depth in the Championship. He's paid far too much money for what he could possibly offer, let alone what he actually will or has so far.

I'm inclined to agree. I think he'll do really well in League 1 and he does afterall, need to prove the doubters wrong and for once I'd rather he do it with us.

But (and these are big Ifs and buts) we need to be sensible

£1 Million is a lot of money at L1 level IF it gets reinvested in the team, if not then keep him
IF Ched is willing to take a pay cut
IF Ched wants to stay and play for the Blades we should keep him

Must admit, of last year's primary players there's not a single one other than Lowton that I'd keep. Of all those whom I'd ditch there are only one or two I'd be sorry to see go. Monty, Morgs and Quinny at a stretch...

So laterz Ched!

If Mellor can get 20 for the trotters then Shed can easily do that for us

all told Mellor got over 20 goals. Agree about Slew

If the wage bill has to be reduced from £12m down to around £4m - £5m then that's just the start and equates to no players!

I would say, revisit this when about 5 of the high earners have gone

I wasn't looking indepth, it was a comment on what that wage alone being gone... could be used for.

As of other reductions I think a good chunk off the budget will come from relegation clauses, and then getting rid of a few other players already on the books. The loans have also gone back, that also takes another sizeable chunk off the book. It's actually something to look at now that could fund some aspects of next seasons budget.
