So Ched is finally starting to show his ability. If we went up this season, would you offer him a new contract?

Obviously this would be dependent on him not been off in January.

. Have a word Broomers...

Turned spireites defender Matthew Lowton to score the only goal, according to BBC sport.UTB

So, according to the pigs Gary Madine = Goal Machine

Ched (with more goals per start) gets limitless slagging on here.

Yes, Wednesday are delusional but equally some Unitedites, having made their minds up, will not change.

FFS Stevie Wonder can see that Ched scores goals that nobody in our team is capable of. Yes, he's not perfect but to continually criticise him is getting tiresome.

No criticism in this thread so far though? If we got up, maybe we would be able to offer him a new deal at 8-10k a week, but if he keeps scoring I think other Championship clubs will offer him more and we should probably start planning without him.

Was going to start a post with well done ched until i spotted this, well if it wasn't for him we'd have 2 points out of the last 2 games instead of the 6 we got that is all down to him IMO. Cressy is v poor and that is being kind, where do i start with Porter? truly one of the worst strikers to pull on a blades shirt he belongs in the conference. There was only one player that was going to win us that game today and that was ched that is also a worry as we get to reliant on one player, lets hope sir JBT is half the player he was 4 years ago and we will have a real strike force. Well done ched continue doing the business.

Ched will be leaving in January to pay off some debts.
But don't worry, our ol' mucker James Beattie is being groomed as his replacement, regardless whether he is in shape or not.

His caught case is not till March so doubt anyone will take him. Also if he continues to play like what he did yesterday then we can't afford to lose him

Oh know, spelling police will be out in force for that one. (caught-court).UTB

They'll have more than one to speak to, and then the grammar rozzers will want words. The punctuation prefects will be along soon. Stay where you are, and don't touch that space bar.:D

Whether his behaviour is deemed criminal or not, Ched Evans has brought the club into disrepute. Get rid.

Last time I looked the rule was innocent until proven guilty, not innocent until a football forum decides otherwise. So if he's found not guilty why should we get rid?

Not saying he is guilty of any crime as suc hbut we must assume that there is some evidence of sexual activity on behalf of the two individuals charged, or there would be no charge. And his moving to another club on a big salary would hardly be a draconian punishment, in fact it is no punishment at all. But if you were to devise a code of behaviour for players at SUFC, I suspect gang bangs might be considered as out of bounds. If not, what would be?

I don't know how much bongo you've watched in your lifetime, but you generally need at least three dicks for it to be considered a gang-bang. If it's found out to be consensual then what's the harm in a threesome? Wouldn't you be a bit pissed off if your employer sacked you for having a threesome? It's none of Sheffield United's business to know what Ched gets up to legally in the sack.

This guy is not going to be out of work. We should transfer him.It is no punishment. Thanks for defining gang bang. If I had got my name splashed all over the inetrnet/papers my employer would be asking quetions (its in my contract) Do you think there is any room for a code of behaviour for professionals at SUFC?

Of course there is. I just don't think consensual sex should be on it. There are limits to that of course (I'm thinking about the infamous roasting scandals here), but a threesome is a relatively mild sexual activity.

Fair enough. But unless you come from the position that the girl involved is just some sort of vindictive cow (and why should we assume that), she cant have found the experience that great, and probably feels abused. This would then be over the limit of acceptable.

It's a difficult one. If she consented to it at the time, but then woke up in the morning and thought that it wasn't too great an experience, well that's just tough shit. Decisions have consequences, and you just have to deal with them however unpleasant. If she didn't consent to it at the time, and they went ahead and did it anyway, well that's clearly rape, and he should be banged up and sacked.

Of course there may be mitigating factors in the above (Ie: drink/drugs - and if it's the latter, then that should definitely be on the code of conduct), but we'll have to see what comes out at the trial.

And if drugs/drink clearly influenced the situation and showed that, at best, Ched Evans, exhibited a major lack of judgement, should he be moved on? I say yes.

He should be moved on, because he's paid £20,000 per week, we can't afford it, and he's not worth it. As for the off field activity, we haven't got a clue, have we. He's innocent until proven guilty, surely?

We can't afford to move him on. If we do - & rely on the likes of Porter - we will sink like a stone.

I wouldn't plan to move him on and do nothing. I'd say that we could save £10,000 per week, fetch in 2 pacey hungry young strikers on £5,000 per week, save money and be a better team for it. Ditto for half of the team for that matter.

It's great for both us and Evans that he's getting his act together at present. The reality is that he will never (again) be a £20,000 per week player.

Is what?

Ah, sorry, I get it. I thought it was clear that I meant after his current deal expires. I thought people knew that they were paid until the end of their contacts, but for the uneducated I'll make allowances.

it wasnt clear ,and why spend so much time and energy destroying the confidence of the only player winning us games ?

I'm discussing opinions on Sheffield United related stuff on a message board. Evans is playing on the pitch. Wind your neck in.
