Ched Evans...

At the time, I did wonder if the pair of them were well advised to disclose what happened in that hotel room if she couldn't remember. I mean that from a judicial stand point not a moral one.

IIRC correctly, they blabbed about what happened in the hotel room during the police interview, well before their trial lawyers spoke to them.

Evans pursued Sheffield United, who employed him at the time he was arrested, for lost wages but the maximum amount a person who is wrongfully convicted can claim is capped at £500,000.

Is this why we took him back? To avoid this stupid sum of money? If so get rid ASAP.

That's your choice, but whilst he's on loan from us he's a Blader unlike yourself. So apart from this comment, I'll ignore you. UTB
He might be back in Jan as we've got a recall clause. Depending on injuries & being unable to get anyone else in we might be glad to have Ched back.

£500k maximum is for miscarriage of justice compensation claims, from the taxpayer rather than a private business
Ched didn't try to sue us. I think he was so relieved to be correctly found not guilty at the retrial he forgot about all the wages he had lost. Now he has remembered & if he can claim from the CPS prosecution lawyers, & his initial lawyers for not questioning it ... for their wrong interpretation of what means yes ..... good luck to him. If they don't even understand their own new laws what chance has anyone got.

I don’t know if he did or didn’t but Sky News reckon he did. As I understand it the £500k cap is comps from HMP but stand to be corrected as ever

"On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to meeee, a thread without Ched mentioned in it......"

"On the second day of Christmas, my true love gave to me see, a 4-0 win over wendeeeee......"

FFS just as things calm down a bit he is now making himself a target for more abuse.
Time to move on.

This is the exact reason we never should have resigned him. Another Ched Evans\Sheffield United story in the headlines

I don't know what sort of justice Ched is after, just monetary I guess but he's a right to explore that imo. Fucking hell, if he'd not questioned fairness in the past he'd still be a convicted rapist in people's eyes. End of the day he's an innocent man wronged. No?
We talk about all pulling in the same direction, passion, the blades family, togetherness blah blah blah yet some are only too happy to boot Ched in the balls for being a victim falsely convicted!
He's still contracted to us and during that contract he has my full support as any player would. When he moves on I'll have no I'll feeling towards him. On the contrary actually, I hope he finds the success he once had in his sights.
There's some on here I wouldn't want alongside me in the trenches that's for fucking sure.

if we can get money for him then get rid & get more money in the pot

Hope for a permanent move for him, he’s clearly not in wilders plans..

200k and another 200k after promotion with the wage paid in full would be a good deal for us.

Aye, its time to move on now for Ched me thinks, and I think it'll be a great move for him to Sunderland. He seems settled though at Fleetwood, and Sunderland is miles from his home, so not sure he'll go for this anyway. Sunderland should be signing Tom Eaves, he'd be a great signing for them.

Are we allowed to recall him? I’m not sure that was in the agreement?

Would be a great deal for both parties.
Still think Ched is top end league 1/ lower end Championship standard, I’d put him at a similar level to Clayton Donaldson.

Would have been decent back up for us
But now even our back up strikers are as good, if not better than Ched.

So even I have to admit that I can’t see him having a future back at SU, we’ve progressed to better than CE.
Wish him well if he goes to Sunderland, should do a decent job for them at league 1 level.

My Macum mate said it’s been reported up there they’ve made an approach for him . Agree SS I think it’s a good one for all parties & he’ll bag a few for them at that level .
