And a promotion to the prem......Let's hope so.
The highest I'd be willing to go is 250k up front. Rising to a maximum of 500k only after a large number of goals.

Thats more like itDeal will be UP to £500,000.
Would be surprised if it's half that initially.
This decision was always going to split us down the middle. Why would wilder want that now?

IF this is true, it's a ridiculous decision, at an even more ridiculous time.
Why should it split us any more than, say, the Hanson signing (who I still think is a very poor player, by the way) or the Clarke signing (who I feel has something to offer)? I really can't see why people are getting so het up about it.
The highest you'd be willing to go? It isn't your money though, and you probably have no concept, like most fans, myself included, of how much a footballer actually costs. If Wilder thinks Ched is the best bet to stick his half a million on, then I'm sold. In the modern game, it's a small gamble that could reap massive rewards. Rather than collectively shit our pants, let's wait and see.

The decision was always going to see 1250 out of average crowds of 19K+ upset.
50/50?
Never.
A little bit more of a snippet, it's nowhere near 500k. This isn't gospel though as it's not a direct bit of ITK, more 3rd party.....
Chesterfield got relegated today, he hasn't played in their last few games, but unlikely he'll fancy playing in league two and they'll need the money and we need another striker....
The football season will end soon, so let the summer transfer speculation begin

Should have said "a bid was made", not "an offer".
Never happen.![]()

Hardly anyone goes on forums or radio stations.
We heard all this "split down the middle" after signing Marlon King.
According to social media we had loads handing their season tickets back and boycotting matches.
But what happened in reality? ........ For Kings debut the gate went up not down.
There was no jeers, only cheering when King was introduced to the crowd.
Wait until the Chezzie game and let's see with our own eyes how split the fan base is on this signing.
Think you'll be surprised when the whole ground shows their appreciation chanting Cheds name. Let's see what happens. Wilder seems to know what he's doing, he has the Midas touch.
Slew was just guilty of one of the worst career moves in Blades history.Jordan Slew is an innocent man and I wouldn't want him back.
If it is purely fitness that is a problem with Evans then fair enough, a full pre-season may sort that. But what evidence is there that he will do anything at Championship level?
He may just be signed as a back up; bit of pace, bit of strength, caused us problems early in the season. But not scored many goals at all since August.
I'll be delighted to be proved wrong.

That's a bit like saying what evidence was there that Harry Maguire could do a job in the Championship when we sold him? Same as what evidence is there that Fleck might cope with the Championship next season?
The answer is
When a player is head and shoulders above league 1 standard then it's a reasonable conclusion to think that player will be good enough for the Championship. When Ched was last in league 1 you felt he would score every game. He scored 29 league goals even though he was injured missing games, also that season he must have hit the woodwork about 15 times.
He was so outstanding in his final 6 months he was turning us into a 1 man team and I've rarely seen any player able to do that over the decades supporting the Blades. He may end up being poor for us but if it's only a few £100K then I suppose it's worth the risk and I'm sure Wilder will believe he can get the best out of Ched.
Why would you be singing for Ched on Sunday. This season has nothing to do with him and you're taking it away from the guys who do deserve it. Madness
Sometimes players form could be down to management and what they're asked to do. I mean Billy Sharp was gash when he came back after relegation from the Prem but I don't think it was his fault, maybe Ched could be in the same boat. Who knows eh...Well Harry Maguire has not had any Championship playing time, Ched had plenty and never pulled any trees up. In fact until that first season in League One he was a huge waste of £3 million in my opinion.
Of course something clicked in League One and with a team miles better that the majority of the division he had a field day. No doubt he was outstanding that season. Unstoppable.
After 4/5 years out of football he came back into a poor Chesterfield side and struggled.
But I agree with your point; if it is only £100k or so it is more than worth the risk if he can come close to stepping up that League One form to the Championship.
If we're paying half a million plus add ons, is it worth the risk when we could potentially take a different player that has bagged 20 odd goals in League One recently? Maybe less of a risk?

Has he had his medical yet, does a nurse still cup your balls and ask you to cough.
James Robertson Justice , Hatie Jaques , Babs Windsor were seen leaving the building this afternoon .
Evans asked if he was ok and fit .
The reply was Carry On Ched starring Sid James as Ched Evans .![]()
