Saw enough today to suggest that Ched Evans record in the championsip (10 goals in 20 games for norwich) will continue or get better with us.

He really looks like he has very good positional sense and awareness and is not scared to shoot from long range.

Looking forward to the leicester game.

A very promising debut. He plays with power, determination and anticipation. He has great upper strength. His goal was that of a classy finisher. It's hardcto believe he's only 20. I don't want to get carried away on one performance but I know that Norwich fans compare him to a young Shearer and you can see why.

Exciting times ahead I think. Today blew away much of my Wembley hangover. Well done lads. Special mentions for Wardy the Wasp, Kyle, Keef and the two rocks.

We still need Brian Stock and another striker though. Then watch us go.

For me, it was great to see a striker with a bit of movement off the ball. What's that all about?!

Very impressive debut, seems to have a very good all round game. Let's hope it continues.

We signed a lad from Man City called Ched, called Ched
I'll take you to the Premier League he said, he said
He scored a goal and that was it, on Shoreham Street we had a fit
Chedwyn Evans, United's Number 9

always liked the John Tudor song when I heard it so good to have a modern version

I'm happy to sing that.

I wonder if Ted Bovis still around...

Quality coops!! We need more invention with songs such as that effort there, rather than the old same old same old. Mi old man always goes on a baat 70's an how songs were chanted weekly that were how you say.....more poetic ;-)

Brilliant! Lennon and Mcartney eat your heart out.

Agree with beighton, the lad has definitely got cult hero written all over him. Bloke I know has been a Man City season ticket holder for ages and has been telling me we ought to sign Ched for a couple of years now. He's that kind of striker that other clubs usually sign and we think "if only we'd signed him".

Thanks they were trying to get that going on the kop all game but i couldnt work out the words.

If I was to pick fault, it's that when he wins the ball with his head in the air, he needs to try and angle it to a player instead of bouncing it straight back up from whence it came :)

But his movement down the right impressed me and the lad can't half cross a ball... not only will he score goals, but I can see him helping out Wardy and Hendo's tally too.

I thought he put Hendo right in the shade today and Relish wasn't happy about Ched shooting instead of passing to him both in the first half when we went just wide and for the goal.

It might be interesting to have Evans and Ward up front.

Holding out for a hero

Maybe it's just early season giddiness but Chedwyn seems to have the potential to be a Bramall Lane hero. Young lad, willing worker, got ability, wears the number 9 and scores goals. I've got high hopes for him.

I can't disagree with any of that.

I thought he played well yesterday and he certianly does look like an exciting prospect and i think he can more than justify his £3m price tag.

I can't really pick any fault with Ched (or the rest of the side) yesterday, apart from the fact that our performance would have justified us scoring 4 or 5

We are saving the goals to hit Wednesday with ;)

The "Blackwell" thread is a weird one. The latter pages of that are people saying that we were poor yesterday and that Ched Evans didn't impress them??? I think they were at a different game. I really enjoyed it yesterday think we've got a good season to look forward to. Roll on Tuesday. Super Chedwyn Evans!

The Blackwell thread is the worst thread i've ever read on here ever. It got me all grrrrr! :)

lush, lush (said in a welsh accent). pleased that he repaid my choice of sticking him on my new shirt with a well taken goal :)
