THE FUTURE ... AS IT USED TO BE

Rather rubbish to be honest. First 35 minutes, well on top, one sloppy pass and we lose complete fucking control of the game. West Brom were going nowhere if we kept it basic but like usual, we haven't got a plan B, have we? McGoldrick took his goal well, but where was everything else which spelled out more goals? Our midfield 'looks' the part but is functionally crap. The wingbacks get up the flank but play tippy tappy triangles and lose it, Billy runs his shirt off but may as well have been playing yesterday in an empty, darkened stadium and when it comes to defending, we suddenly piss our pants and let two avoidable goals in. The fact that we had zero shots on target in the second half tells it's own tale that we are staying where we are this season. The court case, zero bucks to spend in the JTW and the ineptness in places out on the super-duper Desso is why.
Henderson 6/10: Had really nowt to do but pick the ball out of the net twice
Baldock 6.5/10: Yep, he gets forward, gets back, gets here, gets there. But for what?
O'Connell 6/10: Not very good by his standards, balls across the box shouldn't run, and
Egan 5/10: See also. Real fucking lack of co ordination from these two tonight
Basham 8.5/10: Our MotM. I think we know why
Stevens 5/10: Again, quite what CW/AK coach the wingbacks to do once they get into a threatening position is a mystery. Feed the front two or make the killer pass it possibly isn't
Fleck 3/10; Dismal performance. Failed to stamp any authority on the areas he used to and seems to be working his ticket
Norwood 5/10: My Brighton mate said to me when we signed him 'He'll fucking dazzle a game with a freekick or a cross field pass. He'll even bang it in from 25 yards, top corner. But watch him. He'll lose the game because he's complacent and thinks he's better than he is.'
Duffy 6/10: Another one who when you look at the sum of his parts, he deserves a 10/10. But then you ask yourself, 'what did he actually do?' and it is barely half of that.
McGoldrick 6/10: Again, well taken goal, but where is he for the rest of the match? He doesn't run at defenders and always seems to be vying for a header with a defender 6" taller than him and just giving up
Sharp 3/10: Again, not because of his performance, but because he got nowt, save for the one he put into the kop. The fact that Barry arrowed the same shot in past Hendo an hour previous tells you the gulf between the players.
Coutts 5/10: A welcome replacement for Fleck and for a while it looked like we were coming back at them. But he can't prop that midfield up on his own and Norwood seemed to go off the pitch with Fleck.
Washington unmarked, Don't think he touched the ball, did he?
(correction) Johnson; Ha-ha-ha. Wilder. Very funny.
We aint going up. Believe it. This weeks statement from Wilder is as much frustration at McCabe than it is the truth of the pissing on his ambitions. Clearly out there we are shitola and unable to dominate and conquer and make the difference. Either we resign ourselves to that, the outcome of the court case brings better fortunes and we build, or we'll be like the pigs next season.
