IF big IF We decided to sell mcburnie in order to get an upgrade, I'm guessing we wouldn't get 10 million.
I think Swansea had our pants down big time
I'm still hopeful he can be a successful player for us .

He's had a slowish start but has still notched against 2 of the best goalkeepers in the division, one of those playing behing the meanest defence in any of the major leagues of Europe. Maybe we paid over the odds, maybe we have a bargain, maybe he's worth the money, but it's far, far too soon to say who has got the best deal.

This. As much as he seems a nice chap, I am so far struggling to comprehend what he gives to us other than a poorer option against the likes of:

Sharp: Aggressive pressing and opportunist six-yard menace
McGoldrick: Guile, experience and canny ability to turn the situation into a chance
Mousset: Pace, aggression and baffling ability to capitalise on a half chance

McBurnie is somewhere out there, but I don't see our style of play which isn't based on finding a target man giving him anything to get ahead.

The £20m was disputably misspent IMHO. I'd have rather had more pace.

He's got 10 years on Sharp and McGoldrick for starters. Lots of time to improve.

He shouldn't be written off just yet.

He's going nowhere until at least the summer, I personally don't think Wilder will want to take a £10m bath on him then either.

And arguably (VAR) should have had three.

He’s still a quality player and when we paid £20m for Mcburnie, £11m for him is a snip
Bumping this as he's one I'd still love for us to go in for. He'd provide great competition up front.

Wider has come out quite clearly about McBurnie and Robinson as stalwarts of the future. Both young players with time on their side. If we stay in the PL or end up in the championship next season, we will have a very good side, and a load of quality players with PL experience.
No way would Wilder even consider using one of them as a make weight to upgrade. He would have to start building the team from unknown individuals all over again.
Moose is only now coming good with lots of work still to do. I'm sure Osborne and Luke Freeman will get a chance before the year is out, maybe even Morrison? It will depend on injuries and suspensions, (Lundstram already on four yellows).

Of course we would all love a cup run, or flirting with European qualification end of season. IMHO we just need a bit of patience, and backing for Wilder's judgement, and we achieve this seasons goal, which is PL survival.

Just been looking at Southampton and thinking if they drop who would you like us to take and Adams wouldn’t be one of them.

Ward Prowse? Ings? Gunn?

I like Bertrand but he is no Enda

Hojbjerg is a good player too, although probably wouldn’t get into our midfield at the minute

Sounds like Che may be allowed to leave in January. If we could part-fund this transfer by getting rid of Robinson then I think we'd be mad not to. Che Adams has had a difficult start to life in the Prem with Southampton, but I think he has all of the attributes to be a top player at this level. Pace, power, finishing ability. Can play on his own, or as a pairing. I really hope he's one we're looking at.
