John Denver - Annie's song.

(apologies if posted, I've got as far as end of page 1 and didn't see it. Most obvious one).

Righteous Brothers - we've lost that loving feeling. Apparently sung towards Terry Phelan (though I never heard it personally). First off it was 'we've got that Terry Phelan', but after he left it was changed to 'we've lost that Terry Phelan'.

Very short-lived was a Lady Marmalade rendition towards Jean-Lescinel Francois. 'Voulez-vous coucher avec moi, Francois'. Sang on a pre-season tour of Malta.

Well done man. Not long got rid of that Chirpy cheep earworm from Jonnie Walker show of a Sunday.

It's back now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't mention it. I'm always glad to be of service!

Annie's Song was in the OP!

Was there one, "Just Like Eddie".
Whenever your sad , whenever your blue, whenever United are playing. Again unsure of artist but think song was a tribute to Eddie Cochrane ?.

Where's yer caravan?

To any opponent, away fan, programme seller, referee and anybody with long hair in the 70's.

Every bugger had long hair in the 70's.
Wasn’t at the Lane in the 1970s but, now you have quoted it, I do remember that song at school!

When Phelan and Nuddy left SISU, Villa fans were singing "you've lost Ndlovu and Phelan"...

Lots of chants but perhaps never bettered by ‘he’s got a lampshade, on his head’.

The rest went something like...
We'll win the cup, we'll fight like fuck to keep the red flag flying.

Not Chants but songs related to the Blades

And for the oldies

Don't think Rose Garden was ever a song/chant that was actually sung by the fans, just played (start of 2nd half I think) by the DJ.

When TC did do magic.
Rose garden when not.

Not exactly a chart hit, at least I don't think it was, but this one. It had wit, humour, pathos and a point for Adrian Littlejohn. Then the brain dead from across the great divide missed all that and started singing it for Ryan Giggs 🤷‍♂️

Not very PC by today's standards though! "He's black as coal"...
