Same thing to me. I support this club through thick or thin. Whether i’m famous or not i’d never do that.

I agree with you. Say something bad on here about ‘Lord Wilder’ & you are automatically a ‘Pig’. I think Wilder’s out of his depth. His refusal to drop Clarke & Stevens prove this. If I was a striker who United were after i’d not sign for us knowing I had to play up front with that lazy bastard.
Only one thing 100% certain about team tomorrow - Clarke will play all 90 minutes,be absolute shite & be the first name on team sheet next match!!
This is what pisses me off about this forum. It’s never Wilder’s fault, always the players or the board. I want more than anything for Wilder to get us promoted but it bewilders me how far some fans have their heads up his arse like he’s some kind of Messiah.
Agreed. I’ve said for a long time Wilder wont get us promoted. He’s simply a half decent Championship manager at best. & I dont give a shit if people agree with me or not.
We cant afford to have McGoldrick on the pitch when he’s missed so many chances.
Through Thick and thin? Get the fuck outta here.

I will support this club through good results, bad results and the like. I will always be a blade. But, if I was an ambassador and we resigned a convicted rapist would I be proud of my club for that decision? Would I want to be linked to this decision? The answer to both questions (for me) is no.
That doesn't mean I'm not a fan.

About 4 clicks and a few minutes actually, but that's all it took to highlight the hypocrisy of what you claimed and I seriously doubt that's all the crap you've come out with which is critical of the club. The high bar for what a fan should do was your own by the way, not mine.
But we've all got it now, you are allowed knee jerk reactions and to be pissed of and disappointed with the club. However you don't extend that to the women who make a principled stance on something they consider a lot more serious with the club.

Why didn't she and the patrons make a principled stand when it came to Marlon King?

Or perhaps their stand on Evans wasn't principled, rather because of the media profile and pressure as you implied earlier?

King was a serial offender for both sexual and other offences but somehow had a lower profile. Ched got front page red top treatment so all our luvvie fans had to have a view.

I can't recall Webster/Heaton et al making any apologies after he was cleared though, which suggests that the tabloid media manufactured outrage was more important that the final verdict of our legal system.

There have been several quite logical responses to this, but you continue to push that line.
I think the fact she hadn't disclosed her own abuse at that stage, the fact that she was new in role and finding her feet, the fact she'd given the board an ultimatum over Evans would seem to highlight that she was already unhappy with our stance on this issue, and then quit when they totally ignored her concerns.
I also know from my own life experience that there are moments where I haven't done the right thing initially, when I knew it was wrong and wished I'd been stronger.
I regretted not having the courage to do what was right and the next time I was in the same situation I didn't ignore it and had considerably more conviction in what I was doing.
You obviously do not feel that any of the above is as plausible as the alternate view point which is that she criticised the club purely to raise her personal and professional profile. Given she already had the profile from her charity work (which is why the club wanted her as a patron for their community work), and her work on TV, she took what she knew would be an unpopular position within the club and certain section of fans. Add to that the personal abuse she knew she'd get, the rape and death threats, it just doesn't seem a logical position to take to progress her professional career, and therefore it would have to be more a position of principle.

I should add I'm not saying she's a nice person, or that she isn't selfish and self serving, I don't know her anymore than I know you but I can look at what appear to be the facts and decide what I think is more plausible.
My view is that a lot of the criticism does come from misogyny, proven by Heaton and others, in particular the board and manager who sanctioned it, getting a free pass for bringing all this negative perception onto the club. In stark comparison this brought up every time Webster or Ennis are mentioned even if, like this thread, it has nothing to do with the Evans clusterfuck, it's still used to attack and discredit them. How many comments on this thread are about the article, compared to something she did years ago?

I think quite a lot of people are missing out on the fact that the club's community foundation invited her to be a patron because of her profile on which they wanted to capitalise, rather than some self-aggrandising self promotion on her part.

And if anyone has particular views on all women and football, they're more than welcome to share them with me directly. I find this an interesting parallel to the racism thread...

Nowt to do with you love. 😁😁😁
