Gray has been very good about us to in the recent past. Murray definitely seems to prefer the Blades though. A few weeks ago before the Derby the agreed they would go in different ends, but just good having real fans, and fans of teams other then just in the Premiership, presenting.

Way better than having someone presenting who knows nothing about lower league football but is there to get themselves on telly, pretending they care and have a clue who the players are, or where the teams come from.

The Championship is not ‘lower league’. We finally escaped that!

It is to some pundits and journalists, who wouldn't be seen dead at a game outside the Premiership, or actually outside one of the 'top six'.
Gabriele Marcotti actively enhances his journalistic credentials by boasting how he knows nothing about teams that aren't in the Premiership, or even north of Watford, and many other journalists are the same no doubt. It would be a slur on their professional pride to have to report on a championship game, not a champions league game.

At least the presenters now know there are 72 other teams, many with interesting stories and some who are really quite good and attract bigger gates than some of the 'star' teams in the Premiership, and can be genuinely enthusiastic whilst reporting on Fleetwood or Scunthorpe without seeing the job as a stepping stone to bbc or sky tv or radio where they can discuss 'proper' teams with 'real' fans. Oh the irony.

I got bored with the constant over indulgence with everything premier league a while ago. Surely it reaches a saturation point where people don't actually care - every newspaper sports page - an article about some over-hyped premier league game, bbc sports gossip column, 'which over paid average player will move from one average premier league team to another next?', the 'sunday supplement' on Sky sports, a bunch of journalists dissecting games that have already been discussed a thousand times by the time their show airs on sunday morning, none of them have any knowledge or are remotely interested in anything below the premier league - it's their loss

The championship does at least get more coverage - no doubt because pundits and journalists actually know the names of the teams because they used to be in the premier league - it gets worse further down the leagues (which is to be expected I guess) - Ask a pundit about league 1 or 2 and they'll say 'Well, it's all just very even down there and anyone could realistically win it' - they have no idea.

Cos he signed a contract with Talksport.
He got sacked from the BBC for making an I appropriate comment Bout Clare balding at a BBC sport road show

Balding demanded him sacked ,only puts him up in my estimation

This is very true. There's this amazing ignorance from who you think are very knowledgeable football experts, who clearly have no idea about even the Championship.

Marcotti is an expert on European football though. There's only so much knowledge you can process or retain. Then when you get someone like Clem, who actually loves all lower league football, people just take this piss out of his jumpers. The truth is 'everyone around the world' wants to know about the Milan derby, the PL, la Liga and the world famous players, very few people give two fucks about Hartlepool or Rochdale.

It won't "load" (circle of dots keeps revolving top RH corner) & yet other catch up programmes on 5 will do. Bit strange.

Claire Balding appeared several times on fiighting talk with Colin it was a defend the indefensible caused the trouble I suspect it would have made her laugh. Some over sensitive manager at the beeb is more likely responsible We may find out if she comes back on the programme.

Doing a quick internet search to try and find out what he said about Balders, I came across this:

http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/e...ed-host-channel-5-football-show-35968259.html

Seems a rather bizarre take on events and there is nothing to substantiate the claim that the EPL were 'angered' by the decision. Maybe some score-settling by a Belfast journo that Murray used to give purple nurples to at Grammar school?

Already said I've been happy with C5 coverage but just wondered if anyone else pickup on this gem a few weeks back:

Clinton Morrison - "I wish I had played for a big club like Sunderland"....oh me ribs :D

She's the perfect employee for the Beeb - ticks most boxes.

Sexuality aside, she is also a very able presenter. When she is doing a major live event and something goes wrong she has the polish and ability to see it through.

She's appeared with Colin Murray on Fighting Talk and elsewhere and I'd be very surprised if they don't get on, so I think suggesting she went all superstar diva is incorrect. For a girl who is happiest mucking out her horse, she isn't just there for her cut glass accent.

This is true of many but there are exceptions and the most shining one for me is Jeff Stelling, he clearly prepares exceptionally well for every show he hosts, he is a proper professional journalist. His love for Hartlepool keeps him very grounded and knowledgable about the lower leagues, he very rarely gets caught out by events that happen on a Saturday afternoon and the fact that his knowledge seems to extend to the lower depths of Jock football leaves him several levels above me. Yes I get it that he has some technical wizardry going on out of sight in his desk but there is no way he would pick up on it as quickly and surely as he does under the pressure of live TV if it weren't prompts that he had prepared personally.

Still struggling to see how he came in for criticism for that, he was just the host asking the questions.

The whole premise of the defend the indefensible round is just that, it is designed to make a mockery of daft opinions. It was misguided to have this is a statement/question but no fault of Murray’s as he was just the presenter.

He's a man of honour and took the fall for someone else, it seems. Probably due to the fact he knew he was leaving anyways

Still got a fixation with fat, ugly birds tho'.

without being ......ist its the new token position
tv are desperate to show 50 per cent female participation
sky have lots of common tators of the female persuasion at games
its all part of being pc before being good
