Will we change now that baldock is injured again? Any news on this by the way? Or will bash play there with either Wright or stearman into centre half?

I was worried it was his calf again, but Wilder said tight hamstring.

That might only mean he misses Saturday then, then it's a 2 week break for internationals so we might only have 1 game without a natural RWB

This is becoming a concern. He seems very prone to picking up knocks and injuries. Which is a shame because he's increasingly looking like a superb signing.

Not advocating a change of system based on one defeat, but just wondering aloud about how best to accommodate Brooks? He just doesn't seem suited to the 3-5-2 as we've known it.

Tend to agree that he's not a natural (as things stand with him) to the Duffy-like no.10 role linking midfield and attack, & that he seems better suited to that free role playing off a centre-forward that he nailed so beautifully in the pig roast.

But another alternative, from time-to-time, might be to go 4-2-3-1? It'd allow for Brooks to play as a "winger" (or, more likely, inside-forward type in old terms), with the under-used Carruthers on the other side, & Duffy still pulling the strings in the middle. Got to say, I'd love to see us try this on occasion.

In a way, it's more a plea for Carruthers, who seems to be drifting away from sight without his career ever really having started here.

I wonder if Nathan Thomas might get a run out on Saturday

My thoughts exactly! Not sure whether he's ready defensively, but he's the one player who offers the pace and width that has been key this season.

Brooks is perfectly fine playing in a 3-5-2, providing he's one of the 2 - as per Donaldson at Sunderland and with Clarke vs the Pigs.

Basham or CCV can play RWB, no need to change a winning formula. This formation has served up the best football of a lifetime, no need to change it.
