Thing is with Bournemouth and Forest, games in hand are seldom 3 points just waiting to be collected.

I'm not sure there are enough points available to get second. But it wouldn't surprise me to see Bournemouth collect not much more than a point per game in their final matches starting tonight where they picked up zero.

If Bournemouth do go up in 2nd, part of me hopes it's by 6 points and a better GD. Otherwise it's going to rankle what transpired in the away fixture; effectively their elevation over us having been decided by two appalling refereeing decisions.

I had a play with this and I think second will be tight between Bournemouth, Forest and Huddersfield. 6th between us and Luton.

if we can beat the cherries on Saturday that will be 2 defeats on the trot for them and they could do Leeds.
Their run in is full of tough games
Boro lost last night and have 4 awkward away games.
Huddersfield next 4 are stinkers .
Luton and QPR h then Boro a
then a tough derby with Barnsley
I think they will fall short

I predict it's going to be tight right to the end with some twists and turns. On the 7th of May we will know.

Games in hand are brilliant to have but when you consider the calibre of teams they have to play within such a short amount of time I’d be surprised if they didn’t lose a couple on the bounce, rendering their advantage nil.

West Brom (A) lost
Us (A)
Middlesbrough (H)
Coventry (A)
Fulham (H) Game could crown Fulham as champions
Swansea (A) In form atm.
Blackburn (A)

Barring Swansea they’ll all top half sides and that’s just April. Still have to play Nottinghamshire and Millwall. Not as cut and dry, I expect a surprise, possibly Nottinghamshire to pip them to the autos.

For us it’s pointless looking at Middlesbrough and forest as competitors, it’s much more comparable competing against Huddersfield and Luton.

Getting Billy Sharp back is key.
4 from 6 at home and so many top 6 sides playing each other where points must be dropped make our chances favourable.

A pick up in performance levels from a few key individuals recently has me optimistic.

In particular Fleck, Enda and Berge. Even McMarmite was unusually “unshit” last time out 😀👍. The return of another key individual from injury to pop a few more in the onion bag can only be good news.

The Boro love in surprises me. They have had a long hard season and this last few games will not be easy on them. I would hope to get them in the PO semis cos over 2 legs, we’d have em on toast !!

Bournemouth for all their riches have been inconsistent to some extent and the benefactors of it generally being a poor division overall.

Forest are a threat. Obviously so. Would prefer them in a final over a 1 game shootout rather than over a 2 leg semi tbh.

Huddersfield and Luton will miss out.

Top 6 in no particular order.

Fulham
Ballmouth
Utd
Forest
Boro
Blackburn

COYRAWW.

I did this before. Then realised they havent applied the -21 to Derby or -6 to Reading.
Yeah I was confused at first too! Just had a little look and my table actually has Derby just staying up at Reading's expense

I’m confident in our home form,a win in one of our 2 remaining away games will be huge(Bristol City and QPR)

There ya go. Filled in the missing games. Better outcome for us but still think we'll fuck it up in the playoffs

Got a feeling that 5th and 6th spot might come down to the last day with Huddersfield, Luton and Boro vying for the 2 spots... Boro's away record isn't that clever so I'll say they'll be the ones who miss out meaning its

2nd/3rd Bournemouth/Forest
4th Blades
5th Huddersfield
6th Luton

7th Boro
8th Blackburn
9th Millwall

Based on the remaining fixtures Bournemouth could be in trouble for the top two and Huddersfield could miss out on the playoffs. Nottingham Forest are the form team, they don't have the worst fixtures, the number of games could be their downfall but I think they could nick second spot. I was going to write off Blackburn but they have the easiest future fixtures probably followed by Middlesborough With 13 fixtures to be played between teams in the top 9 ithink it is still hard to predict Good job for Fulham that they are 9 points clear with those last 4 games

You have Forest getting 10 more points than Bournemouth over the last 8 games. Bournemouth who've taken 23 points from their last 11 games
In fairness, they have a lot of very hard games in a short period of time. they could easily struggle. We saw what fixture congestion did to us in terms of energy and injuries. I think 2nd will come down to the last game.

Wed: WBA (A) L
Sat lunchtime : Sheffield United (A)
Fri: Boro (H)
Mon: Cov (A)
Sat: Ful (H)
Tue: Swansea (A)
Sat: Blackburn (A)
Tue: Forest (H)
Sat: Milwall (H)

If you factor in the travelling time, there's no much time to either train, recover or rest. Even the teams who won't have anything to play for will want to give a for EPL team and promotion favourite a bloody nose.

Unless we can get Billy back & fit I just don’t think we’ve got the fire power , the goals really have dried up & says a lot that we’re relying on him now , i think we’ve scored 13 goals in last 12 games & we scored 4 in two of those games . The lads have grafted to get results out but I’m not sure how that will take us ?
I know the year Hudds saw the oinks off & went up they weren’t exactly free scoring .
I felt a lot more confident when we had the a full squad to chose from ⚔️

They also have a huge squad full of Championship and above proven players, experience, pace, dribbling, goalscorers etc. I think they'll be nearer Fulham than 3rd

I do worry the lack of a fit goal scorer will let us down. We just don’t have anybody who we can realistically rely or pin our hopes on apart from Billy.

I do think though the mentality of the squad is very good and if we make the play-offs I’m strangely optimistic taking into consideration our past record.

so it's gone to the last week for Forest and Bournemouth and there are 4 into 2 for the bottom two play off slots.

Overall, many people underestimated Luton, including me
