I've heard of about 10% of them, Roger. Then again, this time last year I had never heard of Jack O'Connell or Jake Wright.
 
Paul Gallagher and Matt Smith wouldn't be a bad shout for starters, although the latter has gone off the boil a little.

I would also like to sign Gaetan Bong, for no other reason than 25,000 Blades shouting 'Bong.......Bong' in a Big Ben stylee.
 
That really is a disappointing list. Some big hitters in there like Dale Stephens and Gareth Mcleary will most likely be moving upwards. There isn't a great deal about.

Quite like Kareem Harris from Cardiff. I always remember Machinenne being a good player about 4 year ago never knew he was even at Forrest.

The only one on there I would actively be looking at is Lukas Akins. Not sure where he would play for us.
 
Likely most of these players will be offered new deals at the end of the season. Is anyone honestly expecting our out of contract players (Coutts, Basham, Freeman etc.) to not be offered deals at the end of the season?
 
Out of all those I've only seen a few play; Cyrus Christie is a pacey RB and Junior Hoilett, a quick left winger. Check Tiote is a well known holding midfield beast but is ex-prem so will probably will/want to stay at Newcastle.

I'd like us to see if we could bid for Carlton Morris from Norwich. They have a really good U-23 team/academy and he's been playing at Rotherham this season so has championship experience but due to his 'promise' and age we'd most likely get a loan deal.

Luke Freeman is a good shout but didn't QPR sign him in the JTW?

DeGirolamo signed a new contract til 2018 with Bristol City, and Matt Smith is at QPR so some names may be inaccurate. Whittingham over 400 apps for Cardiff if he hasnt been offered a new contract hed be decent.

Whittingham will be 33 just after the start of next season, I'd rather us look at someone younger

Gone are the days when a player / agent can tap up our manager for a last nice payday with contract , plus a drink in it for the manager . Allegedly .

What Chris Wilder does is always for the good of the club . We ain't always had that .
 
Always liked the look of Luke freeman when he's played against us, can be a tricky little bastard. Signed for QPR in January though.
 
It's Premier League out of contract players we want to be targeting, I don't want championship rejects in the championship. Apart from a marked few they'll not be good enough, we've tried that before.

Off that list (realistically) I'd pick:
Chris Baird - a good, positive influence on the dressing room. Versatile, a good player and experienced in both that level and the one above. Age isn't a factor either for a player like him.
Luke Chambers - a very good defender. Mad Mick has him playing right back because he hasn't got any, he might enjoy moving back into a more central role. Bags of championship experience.
Jake Cooper - 6"8 defender. Young and massive. On loan at Millwall where he's had one of the best defensive records in the league since joining.

As far as realistic players go that's it for me. One thing I do notice, a complete plethora of any decent realistic attacking talent. But a few good defenders.
 
George Saville might be a good shout.

Don't think he's done that well at Wolves but did great on loan at Brentford a couple of years back. Still only young at 23.

Not sure if Wolves are going to extend his contract but if not I'd have him here. He's got a good combination of mobility, fitness and ability which we could do with in the Championship.

Plus, I was talking to his Dad before the Millwall game last season (he was on loan there) and he said he's a good player so that's it.
 
Not quite sure how accurate that list seems to be but from viewing it barely any names stand out to me. Looks like we might need to find some cash this summer if we're to recruit well enough to compete.
 
Always prefer automatic promotion, it allows recruitment to begin earlier, hopefully that will be Wednesday. It will be interesting how CW balances his belief in not paying over the odds for players wages and transfer fees, and being able to attract players to the Lane. Will certainly be an interesting close season.
 
Matty Fryatt at Forest....I had forgotten all about him...was decent a few years back.

Just looked and he hasn't played at all in this or last season due to achilles problems....will surely be released by Forest in the summer and a big gamble for any club taking him on.....not suggesting for a moment that it is us!

A number of good players amongst those. I would be surprised if we hadn't already got something in the pipeline for a couple of them.
