Cheers roy, i dont think you went on the norwich forums for there comments, way too humble, most generally thinking we will do well, what could possibly go wrong

Sunderland fans surprised me with their optimism. I watched that Ross Stewart lad in the play-offs and didn't rate him at all.
Having said that, he bagged for fun in League 1. They've signed some good players and I don't think they'll be in a relegation battle, but surely top 6 is a bit far for them?

I honestly don't think the league is going to be particularly strong again this year.
If we can just push the boat out that little bit further then I think we could be serious contenders.
As it is, I can only see us being around the top 6. I just struggle to have complete faith in our forward options for obvious reasons.

In terms of our XI, I think we're an excellent CDM and a reliable forward away (said a few times, Grabban would be a great 1-year-option as an insurance policy).
In terms of our squad, we need cover at GK, RWB and AM.

i was reading 442 recently & reading fans are some of the most pessimistic i can remember. predicted 23rd & saying they shouldve got relegated last year but derby saved them & they are much weaker this season

Cheers Roy for the Herculean effort in pulling these together. Interesting insight, some weird and wacky comments, but hats off to this Watford fan for a real LOL moment! 😂

“The only double dropping to happen this season is when Elton opens up his personal ecstasy stash to the fans when we celebrate a record 138 point season”

Got a real feeling West Brom and Bruce are going to hoof there way up the league early in the season. I really hope that Sunderland’s momentum gets knocked out of them early.

Plus for the reason that Hull for some reason hate is so much I hope they get done every week and drop out if the league.

Cheers Woy, hope the pre seasons gone well

No doubt Middlesbrough will eventually build a good side with their outgoings ( including one who was away on loan last year) but right now I don't see why they are so fancied

great stuff Roy, as always

Very much agree....it's not that teams are poor....it's just that there are no outstanding teams.

Regards United we should finish about 5th or 6th minimum.

The big factors deciding our fate are whether any of our players will click.
Remember last season Bogle and Brewster were just starting to find some form looking really good....then both out with long term injuries.

Will McBurnie finally show some of his Swansea form? He owes us.
Will the talented N'Dyie progress and deliver more?
How will Khadra fit in...will he replace MGW?
Will Berge start stamping some authority on games? He has the quality but often struggles to deliver.
Will Anel what's his name show that he's too good to play at Championship level?

And of course injuries can play a massive part....we were really unlucky last season...with almost the whole forward line out.
If our players click we can definitely finish top 2.

Of the relegated teams I expect Norwich to do the best because they know what's required in the Championship.
Think us (hoping) and Norwich City will be promoted with Boro doing well too.

Boro is a weird one to predict as they look a good striker away from top 6 or even top 2, and have a bunch of new found cash. Be interesting what CW does with it...
Boro signed Forss. Not sure if that’s impressive or not. He’s never really nailed a starting spot at Brentford even when they were a Championship team.

Looks like after Spence, Tavernier will be off, this time to Bournemouth for 10m rising to 12.5m. He never really appeared in my view that much to be honest. Considering that’s about what we got for Brooks, it seems overpriced.

Decent punt for that money. Bit of a Bogle/Lowe signing.

23, over 200 games and seemingly improving season on season. Looks like the makings of a top Championship midfielder, with the possibility of making the step up.

Another player that has left one of our potential rivals. Can be a good thing.

I see Burnley’s winger looks like joining Everton and a few other teams looking at Cornet.

I think there will be a fair bit of movement before the end of the window. So many games in August, so teams will be buying out of a bad start and players starting well will be on the radar of bigger clubs.

Bloody hell they all make us sound optimistic, someone has to get promoted. Reading those it seems no one is going up!!

Hope he's as good with boro's cash as he was with ours, 👊💦💦💦Spunked

My favourite is this one, from a Blackburn fan. Not spectacular, but sums up many football fans. It's a total fantasy of a prediction based on nothing but their own random fantasies.

“9th – a slightly stuttering start but some cunning January signings and a compared to recent years amazing second half of the season”

What I learnt from that was that the top 6 this year will be

Burnley
Coventry
Hull
Luton
Middlesbrough
Millwall
Norwich
Preston
Sunderland
Swansea
Watford
West Brom

So the playoffs should take about 3 months to complete

Sunderland are incredibly confident for a side that finished 5th in League one.

I tend to agree with the Boro fans, I don’t think they’ll be as good as a lot of people think, unless they bring some more players in.

I was really surprised with the negativity of the Watford fans tbh

As some have said West Brom have some good players and on paper should be in the automatics but their best hope is a terrible start to the season and they sack Bruce after 6 weeks

Apparently made some amazing signings including some guy who helped them reach 5th in league one. Unreal!

Blimey. We really are going to be the cock of the walk according to that lot.

Nice one cobba Roy! Nobody fancies it which is interesting.

I reckon a few teams will surprise this season. Hull will do well and West Brom. I'm surprisingly confident and think we'll be top 2 for a chunk of the season however I'm betting on Burnley to win it.
