True, but just note how long he holds it before either dropping it on the floor or kicking from his hands
Never noticed him holding it any longer than any other keeper and it would have been mentioned by plenty of oppoaing fans in the past but it hasnt. Again this has been started by pussy'ole spurs fans. It's not an issue, never has been.

The one where Basham goes for ball, misses it and gets Maddison’s ankle instead. Inside the box. It’s a pen all day long.

Yeah, you?
Although I can understand why you doubt it because I don’t subscribe to the ‘everyone’s against United’ bollocks persecution complex
Well it wasnt a pen was it ?
And the day it is ,is the day i stop watching the game

everton v arsenal ,,, every bit as much time wasting and the same number of second half subs as Spurs v blades

refs added on time total 4 minutes, we finished on 16m minutes added a third of the 45 minutes a second half should be
cant see where we lost 1 minute in every 3

It has been something that has concerned me since he came into the team. I am not saying he is alone, but refs allowing it are slowing the game down.
He was just as bad last season when we were winning, so it’s not something new this season.

No idea. At the other end you and everyone else moaning would be screaming for it.
We would have appealed. That doesn't mean it's a penalty. Fans appeal for stuff, that's the traditional way to influence refs.

Thoughts? 🤔

It depends on how you look at it and this is where other sports are in front when it comes to player safety. Spurs would say that was a "football incident" where 2 players are jumping, Wes has the right to collect the ball, the Spurs player has the right to jump for the ball however I know things look worse in slow mo etc. I have frozen the clip at the moment where Wes has collected the ball and is clearly in possession of it. The Spurs player has only started to make his jump for the ball and could have easily avoided Wes as he was staring at him and also didn't need to continue making his jump.

In Rugby Union they have mitigation factors where they look at the incident and see is it worth lowering from red to yellow as the player might be falling into the tackle or something that wasn't in their control. If we applied the football laws of the game in the same context is this unsporting behaviour (yellow) or serious foul play (red). Ultimately the Spurs player has led with his elbow into the face of Wes jumping into it when it was clear he had no chance of winning the ball making direct contact with his head. How can you say it isn't serious foul play? Unless football actually review incidents properly they are going to get unstuck further down the line.

Hecky is right - The ref was shocking for both teams. Far too many yellow cards all around. Not enough injury time first half and too much second. Missing a fairly straightforward foul and then doubling down on it by giving McBurnie a ridiculous second yellow. VAR was useless too - I thought both elbows were dangerous play and warranted a red. For balance, I also thought Bash was very lucky not to give away a penalty.

I also think Wes does waste more time than most keepers (the real injury apart as that was perfectly warranted). Love the guy and he's great for us, but he's got a marked card now. Every team we play will remind the referee to keep an eye on how long he takes.
