Challenge on Wes

For the last couple of years Wes has taken ages to release the ball on nearly every occasion. What happened to 6 seconds ? Sometimes he holds it for 20 or more, yet he rarely gets booked.
Most goalies I have seen at pro level take just as long, he is no worse. Look at the recent thing they do, have 2 teammates in the area, pretend they are gonna play it short, then wave them up the pitch to launch it. Almost evwry keeper I have seen falls on the floor on top of the ball when they catch it when they want to waste time. Wes is no worse than the avg keeper in terms of how long he takes to release the ball, its only become a thing because of the gimp spurs fans, fcking pussies.. The 6 second rules doesnt ever get enforced, if it did every keeper in england would get a yellow in every game!

When this was talked about previously, I looked at the rules and could find no reference to a 6 second rule. Was it ever a written rule or was it just a sort of ' rule of thumb'? I always assumed it was a written rule but now I'm not so sure.

It's under "Law 12: Fouls and misconduct"

....or every keeper would release the ball into play. Once again we have weak officials both on the pitch and off it

I think it was a recommendation to clarify the rule which refers to releasing the ball “early” ( my words).

It's well hidden! I often count to myself when the ball is in a goalkeeper's arms and it's often 12+ seconds. A week or two enforcing the rule would remove the problem

Yes it is, yet Maddison can blatantly have a go at the ref and tell him what he thinks every couple of minutes. It’s blatantly bent what makes it even more daft. I wish someone could ask the ref why he didn’t book Maddison yet sent McBurnie off for telling the ref his shirt was been pulled. Wanker!
He did book Maddison for dissent. This ‘everyone/everything is against us’ act is getting really tiresome. There was so much added time because Wes took the piss so often and you can’t get away with it any more. United should also have conceded a penalty and had a number of other decisions go their way on the day.

Which one do you think was a penalty?

Surely not the Maddison dive at corner of penalty area? There was a tiny bit of contact but you can see the delay before he chucks himself on the floor.

I bey the same pricks moaning about wes wasting time we're the same pricks throwing the second ball on the pitch.. three times!!!

There were so many bookings it was difficult to keep track of them. It's very easy to get booked these days and hopefully our players learn quickly, thus avoiding them.
13 bookings (2 for Mcburnie) does make the game look bad, but there was hardly a bad challenge.
As for Maddison he's mastered the reflex 2 arms in the air for both appealing decisions, moaning about non decisions against opposition players and whilst taking a dive when he feels a minor touch. For a good player it's all rather irritating.

I'm probably wrong, but doesn't the 6 second rule above refer to the situation where the goalie has the ball in hand, and not goal kicks? I thought Spurs were mainly complaining about the time spent by Wes taking goal kicks, for which the punishment is not a free kick to them, as referred to above, but instead a yellow card.

On a related point, the biggest delay was when Wes was forearm smashed in the face by a late dangerous challenge by Van de Ver, cutting Wes's cheek and requiring stitches, during which time he reasonably removed his gloves. Apparently having medical treatment following an unprovoked attack amounts to "outrageous timewasting" (from a Talksport presenter), clearly justifying abuse from the crowd, both in person and online afterwards? We should have been booing them!

And the second yellow for Oli was just ludicrous. Whilst he can be a total idiot, the video shows the mildest dissent ever. If that resulted in a yellow card every time, we wouldn't be able to have a five a side match after 10 mins.

And annoyingly McB had caused them all sorts of problems, but we can’t appeal, and we don’t have anyone to readily replace him against Newcastle

So would a week or 2 of refs giving yellow cards for blatantly trying to get free kicks by rolling or diving on the floor. But it wont happen!

The one where Basham goes for ball, misses it and gets Maddison’s ankle instead. Inside the box. It’s a pen all day long.

You actually a Blade?
Yeah, you?
Although I can understand why you doubt it because I don’t subscribe to the ‘everyone’s against United’ bollocks persecution complex

Might look a penalty in slow motion (if you ignore the dramatic and delayed dive) but in reality he's tapped the player a tiny bit. Would be a disgusting penalty decision. Even VAR didn't give it to the big team!

Did you watch the game? How many times did Maddison play up? I’ll tell you, loads! Maddison could’ve and should’ve been booked 6 or 7 times for similar things to what McBurnie was seen worthy of a second yellow card.

I don’t give a flying fuck about whether you think there is a bias or not but I think you know full well it happens against teams like us and that it’s clearly not a level playing field and you fully well know it. It’s not just us, it happens to other teams too but I can only comment on what I’ve seen, you’ve obviously either not seen it or ignoring it, that’s your prerogative.

There were other things that happened in the game but I can’t be arsed to discuss it, it’s annoying to be honest.

Clue in the wording, controls the ball with hand/arm for more than 6 seconds
nothing to say you can't then place it on the floor and kick it, after another 14 seconds.
A novel way of interpretation ! You must be a referee !

Thoughts? 🤔

That Paul E2 Spurs fella has literally commented on everything I’ve read or seen regards the game, he seems like a right busy twat who clearly won’t have a bad word said about his club, his biased ness is clouding his judgement on everything he’s commented on, including the challenge that didn’t need to be made from the Spurs player in the clip above.

If as you say it was a pen why didn't VAR look at it and tell the ref?
