After injuries to Craig Beattie and Kenny Miller during the 2-1 over Inverness Caley Thistle yesterday, will Celtic boss Gordon Strachan decide he has no option but to sign Sheffield United journeyman Geoff Horsfield?

Hopefully not, to be honest, as there seems little reason to pay £1million or so for a 33-year-old who is surely past his peak. When Horse was initially linked, it was thought Celtic could sign him as cover for free - but Blades manager Neil Warnock said he would not let him go on the cheap.

We cant let him go for free we have to get some of our cash back on him. Dont think the board are gonna be happy to see him go on a free.

I doubt they would let him go on a free im sure we can get a decent amount back on him not all the amount obviously no one is as daft as us

My Dad always says 'your first loss is your best loss', just let him go and save the wages, he has no value.

Heard from a mate in Glasgow it will go through today at £450,000

I think people just want him to go now so that would be a good deal for all.

Releases a wage for someone to come in too.

:)

Loan deals with a transfer at the end of the season fixed in the loan deal, seem to be the modern way... Just like the way we got the Horse.. I agree with the general sentiments already posted. Get rid, & be happy not to have the problem any more... Same applies to Sommeil IMO..
