He's handy inty?? Not too much said about him so far, I bloody love Jake Wright so wasn't too sure at first, and occasionally he doesn't fill me with confidence, but he's starting to show he's a class act.

Good in the air, brave, fastest we've got and good on the ball- he's getting more confident every game, I can see him absolutely bossing it this season.

Class signing from God. And clever from God today too, having C-V picking it up from Blackman and bringing it out, without Coutts to do it as normal. Clever player

I thought CCV made a couple of unforced errors when trying to clear the ball and ending up mis-kicking, but hey, he is young and as CW says, young footballers make mistakes. They suffer inconsistencies, but overall, he's done well for us.

I'm just enjoying everything about us at the minute and when the side sees as much of the ball as they are doing currently, there's always going to be mistakes

I take it we'll have the option of Stearman back in the fold quite soon which will strengthen our options at the back as well

Still gutted about Freeman tho. Reyt blow for him and for us as well

Agreed, he had been excellent until Wright came on, and seemed happy with his role and what he was expected to do.
He did make a few sliced clearances and wild swings at the ball, but I put that down to nerves at the end and him perhaps feeling the pressure of having a single goal lead. Experience will cure it, he’s still young and will make wrong decisions at times.

Spurs will be over the moon with where he is at the moment,

The lad is decent, but I really wasn't keen on him starting off in that central role. Looked a lot more comfortable when he shifted after Freeman got injured in my eyes.

I'm really scraping the barrel for things moan about here :D

He's 19. Bloody 19 and that size!! I reckon aye, the odd mistake but he's a mile ahead of Stearman for me, we've got good depth even with Freeman out (Bash was class at wing back).

I think he's EEL in reverse. We all worshipped him then came to realise he was dodgy defensively. Carter-Vickers is a slow burner but might be our best signing

He had a lot of ball in the first half in the absence of Coutts to take it off him. Thought he did ok.

CCV slightly reminds me of early-era Maguire – he looks more than capable for the level he’s playing at, but still has the rawness that will result in at least one major balls-up per game. But he is learning, and for all the communication benefits Wright playing results in errors are starting to creep into Wright’s game of late.

I think CCV looks more comfortable as the right-sided one of the 3. With Basham set for a spell at right wingback, I imagine we’ll soon be seeing Stearman back into the middle with JOC and CCV either side of him.

Thought he was quality yesterday. Mcgoldrick for them looked as though he had a bit of quality but CCV had him in his locked all game.

If they can coach tripping over his own feet (which he managed twice yesterday) out of him, he really will be some player! As with Blackman, we have to remember that we are watching people rapidly ascending a very steep learning curve.

Against a better team we would have conceded yesterday, we rode our luck at times,

I've coached kids football from u8s to u13s and I don't think I've seen 'more foul' foul throws than CCVs. Absolute shockers :)

He is fast good in the air and 19 years old he will do for me UTB

Hopefully Bash will be staying as CH or in midfield as Baldock should be back next week. UTB

Not sure if you saw all the horrific, sliced ballsed-up clearances in yesterday’s Liverpool - Man U game by experienced International defenders. One per game wouldn’t be bad.
I don’t see anything to fear in that “Premier” League :-)

Certainly one or two foot off the ground ones, and it looks lime he's throwing it basketball style.

He's a good prospect for 19 and he has some great attributes, mainly his athleticism. However as you say, he's got a touch of the Nosworthy's about his footwork, which was one of the factors when the pigs equalised, he was facing the wrong way and when he tried to turn his body it was too late and he took himself out.

Other than that he's a great contributor to our squad and those three centre back positions are being hotly contested

It should be remembered that he has played 5 league games and I believe 3 cup games for Spurs - that's all in proper competitive football.

He has never been out on loan before us.

Yes, a few rough edges to polish off

and by the way.......he's 19 yo and holding his own in La liga.

He'll get better as AK gets to work on him and I wouldn't it past us to sign him in the close season.

UTB

"F**k off back to London"
"He's shit"

That's what some dickhead in the Bramall Lane Corner shouted yesterday.

It's time that Bert moved back to the New South Stand now that the toe rags have invaded his space.

Im a fan of the lad. At 19 he's got a huge future. He set a high bar stepping in away at Bolton where he was excellent. I certainly don't begrudge the odd unforced error whilst he's developing, it's all part of his journey and he's got the best set of lads and staff around him to keep improving.

Aye the lads a machine. Still young so has the odd heart in mouth moment but that's part and parcel and something he'll improve on.
On a another note, Jake Wight, love him, however I think he's struggled abit in the last few games, especially when he's had to deal with quick and physical players.

CCV defintely looks look at good player in the making - bound to make a few errors given his age and lack of experience but that is why he's with us - to learn the game.
