Is there any chance of getting him the team with the three amigos in midfield? Like everyone I love watching our three midfielders and now we have Carruthers, not talking about whether he is better or not, just that I dont want to see anyone dropped but I would want to see a talent like Carruthers start as well, am I being greedy?

I think the England national team have been the only ones to cram 4 central midfielders into a system, which was for the sake of getting the individuals in.

Suspensions, injuries and form will ensure all our midfielders get a chance, no need to try anything different to get them all on the pitch at the same time. Doesn't work.

If we change back to 4231 at some point say next season you could have for example...

Coutts fleck

Then

Duffy Carruthers Chapman (loan)

Otherwise he is ready to step in of Duffy or Coutts dip

4-4-2 Diamond would be one way, keeping 2 up top and width provided by the Full Backs.
A Diamond with Coutts at the base,Duffy at the top and Caruthers and Fleck right and left.

Great position for Wilder to be in even bash hads to the midfield competition for places, very healthy position to be in

If Aguero can sit on the bench at Man City, then, nothing wrong with Carruthers doing the same initially and then proving a point when he does get the chance - Football is now a squad game and looking at the eighteen on the team sheet on Saturday there is not a club in the third division that can come anywhere close to having the quality of the Blades
Injuries, Suspensions and Loss of Form all have a part to play as well as the opportunity to be able to change the game from the bench if things are not happening - We are now in a position where we have cover in virtually every position with the flexibility to change the system if 3-5-2 is not working !

Two short cameos and he's been involved with 2 of our goals. Certainly looking good.

Obviously a contender for Duffy's No10 role, but he'll also keep Coutts on his toes as it stands. Going forward I suspect he'll in the starting 11.

Carruthers and O'Shea offer a wide option as well as being able to play in the 'hole', they'll be invaluable as the season goes on. If Duffy goes off the boil Carruthers will only need one game to become first choice, I really rate him and I always have. Great signing out of nowhere.

I get what you're saying Norks but it was only a week or two ago some of us were questioning CWs' selections and decisions, he soon listened to us though and brought Jake Wright back in so he's back in the good books now. :D
And, whisper it quietly, we were right ;)

The lad looks quality and he always looked good when he was at MK...I also don't think it will be long before he becomes a regular starter, but hard to leave any of our golden triangle out in the midfield, and not sure if Chris will change from the 3-5-2 unless it's during the game if things aren't working...Top signing.

I wouldn't consider dropping Duffy at this stage of the season unless he's really off his game/carrying a knock, but I suspect Carruthers might be have been bought as his replacement bearing in mind Duffy's age.

That said, Duffy is a great little player who's been pivotal in our success so far. I hope he's playing too well in the last 16 to be dropped.
