Oh yes.I like Kendal. Nice little town. Traffic can be a bit of a mess though.
Oh yes.
If you think United are bad for turning down or releasing players who go on to greater things, Kendal Town (Netherfield as it was) released Tom Finney as he was 'a bit lightweight and will never make it'.
Just wondering if anyone is even going to this game? The 2nd of January, feeling rough and a going as far north as you can go, just to stand on an uncovered terrace in the freezing cold, what isnt appealing about that?
Ian Holmes took his place in the right wing
I was at school with Ian - big pig fan!![]()
De La Salle then? We always had the edge on them even when the Fenoughtys were part of their 1st XI (and the aforementioned Ian Holmes)
My mate found out he has to work tomorrow, so I have a spare ticket, you'll have to sit next to a fat bloke.
Thinking of going here for a pint

My only visit at Brunton Park was in the 2-1 defeat in the FA Cup in 1973. Travelled by train. Like Sitters, I had to walk across a field to get to the ground. Dennis Martin opened the scoring nodding in a cross by Chris Balderstone (played cricket for England against the West Indies 3 years later). Bill Dearden equalised but Bob Delgado (later moved to Rotherham) got the winner. Woody didnt play in that match due to an injury and Ian Holmes took his place in the right wing
Absolutely correct. I played Rugby Union for De La Salle at the weekend but played football for the House team (Clitheroe - red shirts) during the week - 2nd XI captain. 1961 to 1969 were happy days
