I remember seeing him in our defeat at Brentford a few seasons ago and thinking how superior he was to Long who was playing in the same game. If he keeps like that for us he will be a fantastic signing.

Basically he has wasted his last three years sitting on the bench playing the odd game here and there. I watched him play for Cardiff at Brentford a couple of years ago and he was totally unrecognisable from the quality and confident keeper we had enjoyed at Brentford before he decided to leave and was nervous and jittery.

He obviously made money from his move but he was never going to displace Marshall so professionally the move was a dismal failure for him. He impressed at Brentford, quick off his line, good on crosses and an excellent shotstopper but strangely vulnerable to long range efforts which whipped past him with monotonous regularity.

He had the potential to be a top class keeper and was well on his way when he moved on and he now has the chance to re-establish himself with you.

I would urge you to show him some patience early on as he will need to readjust to league football but if he can recover his form you will have an absolute bargain on your hands.

Aye, you may be right, but as dodgy as Long has been its not his fault we've not been able to string two consecutive passes together so far this season and have no discernible pattern to our play.

Shouting and farting about seems to be Wilders only tactical set up thus far.
