If you had a cardboard cut out of Connor Sammon would you be able to tell the difference? 🤔

It’s an accusation that regularly gets bandied around, but there was a time when Arsenal really were forced to play in front of plastic supporters.
The month was August, year was 1992 and with Highbury under redevelopment, the Gunners decided to mask off the North Bank Stand building site with a huge vinyl mural.

If they put these as carboard cut outs round the ground it'd scare the opponents to death.View attachment 80660
Tony, why did you have to show that picture ?
After forgetting that eyesore, it's all I now see. Such a bright start to the day until this.

yours, losing the will to live.

It's a bit of a gimmick but for the sake of £20 to support the club in these times I'd gladly have my ugly mug printed out and stuck on a seat.

Cardboard cut outs would have a significant effect on a game by acting as baffles so the echo effect of an empty ground would be eliminated.
In fairness I watched the BMG game at the weekend and thought it just felt much better than all the others and though my mind must have been playing tricks on me simply because I could see what looked like fans rather than just empty seats, but you make a great point and perhaps they did baffle some of the echoing which made it sound better. 👍

Is it £20 per game or for the rest of the season and do we retain the commercial rights to our own image?

Also, do we have the opportunity to collect our life-size cardboard selves at the end of the season?

I've seen matches where the cardboard cutouts have been on the pitch. Also David Weir, Bryan Robson and Nigel Adkins as managers comes to mind 🤣
