And he made the comment that he didn't like SUFC when set up by Dan Walker who is also of a blue/ white persuasion I believe.
Interestingly he didn't comment earlier in the interview when Dan referred to him as a fellow Yorkshireman!

Not sure if Dan's a Crawley fan or if there may be a bit of a Spurs thing going on with him.
Deffo married in to a W*******yite family though.

Lives in the Hunters Bar area if I am not mistaken.
He's not from San Francisco then?

I was brought up to believe that to be a 'Yorkshireman' you had to be born in Yorkshire. Moving there is not enough. Sorry, blame my Grandad and his stick ball obsession; 'tha could play fo' Yorkshire coz tha wa born in Yorkshire' (but Grandad, I'm shit at cricket).

I remember watching Boycott's return to the England team live on TV and the horror I felt when he ran out local hero Derek Randall

I was there when he did that good job he scored big or he may not have escaped with his life!!!
Him and Alan Knott put on 200 I think something like that

Happy for him and all that but cricket's still shite.
Most cricket fans rank just below "real ale" types on the Wanker Scale.

Shit I like cricket and real ale!!
No exceptions for Blades I take it Tyler????

Nowt wrong with drinking real ale per se. I'm partial to stout myself. It's just those CAMRA tossers that do my head in. Men of a certain age who wear dodgy knitwear and act as if lager is worse than sulphuric acid.

As for Joe Root, yeah I'm happy enough for him, it's a nice bit of trivia. Still only cricket though.

Thank god I only drink it not pontificate about it!! Off the Tyler hook, at least partially!!

Why? Why not give Mr Cutler a chance. He's made a few appearances, and then disappeared ( I blame Adkins) surely we'll never know how good he is if he doesn't get a run at farting about on the pitch and touchline waving to kids.

You must have missed his best work. A lot of it goes unseen;)

So what do you follow in the summer then Tyler?

Golf, Rugby League, Tennis or other non entity shite?

Cricket is a decent distraction when there's no footy and a great day out live. Some technical sport to watch while you get gently pissed with your mates (you can drink in view of the pitch).

As for the real ale jibes, I can only assume you are a lager drinker? Nuff said.

Joe's a Blade and always has been. Cricket is very much secondary to football, but even so to have a high profile celeb who is a world class sportsman and a true long standing Blade, is good news IMHO.

In the summer? Absolutely nothing. I need those three months to recharge after an emotionally exhausting season of watching United. Might watch a bit of Masters snooker if it's on telly but that's that really.

I wasn't having a pop at ale drinkers per se. Just those snooty elitest boring twats who think that anything not served at room temperature or "cask conditioned" is poison. Kelham Island is crawling with such arseholes, and they're even snobbier than wine buffs.

This illustrates what I'm getting at perfectly

A few weeks ago on BBC Football Focus Clem did an article on Darren Ferguson and Donny Rovers.

Returning to the studio Dan Walker tried to link it to how well football in South Yorkshire was doing - 'Wednesay looking good for promotion to the Premier League.' Mark Lawrenson immediately balanced it out with 'Sheffield United look as though they'll get promotion as well'

In fact this was the second time in the same programme that he gave us a mention. They were discussing Harry Maguire and Lawrenson said he'd been playing that well at Sheffield United for years.

Think Lawrenson has a soft spot for us and good to see him keeping Walker's more than biased approach in check.
