Can we stop it about Burnley N Leeds?

Wilder sees what we do, he's meeting new owners tomorrow and will have signings lined up.

2 fluke goals from Burnley today, they weren't all that. As regards Leeds they drop stupid points

Weve lost 3 at halfway.
Much better than us tho first goal wasn’t a fluke at all second - well it should have been our free kick before there free kick and we put sod all pressure on Trafford

Burnley deserved it.
Like Leeds, they are a better, more cohesive team than us and they have a much bigger squad to select from..

It makes what we've achieved so far all the more impressive.
Wilder has got us into a position whereby, if we strengthen well in January we might just be able to go the distance with those two.

I'm less concerned by the result and performance today than I am the injuries. I kind of expected us to get outplayed by Burnley, because we haven't looked good against any of the best sides this season (unless you include Blackburn).
The injuries are a huge blow.

They played well, got a bit of luck and deserved to win. It's not cap doffing to admit they're good, as are Leeds, and we are in a real battle for promotion.

Did anyone expect us to coast it? Does anyone think we should be a better team than Burnley or Leeds? I hope not.

A waifer thin squad caused by an abysmal recruitment policy over the last few years upto this summer got exposed today.

On reflection, it's a miracle we were actually top at Xmas.

Burnley were good but our weaknesses were easy for them to exploit and we had no one to change the game off of the bench

I agree and disagree. Burnley looked more organised than we did today, I don’t think they ever really worried when we had the ball.

But you are right we have an opportunity next month to get a squad together.

As frustrating as today was, Wilder has done incredibly well to get us half way through and be in the position we are having rebuilt a full squad in the summer & regularly having 4/5 youth players in the squad to make up numbers

Issue is deep down we know theirs squads are far superior than ours. I know we have our red tinted glasses on. But everyone knows they are a long way ahead of us individually. We have somehow got ahead but the squad that’s thin now looks thinner.

I said at the start I would be happy with bottom of playoffs and I still am.

The Americans may be able to change that around

If anyone thinks our squad is better than any of the top teams then they need to look at our bench today and ask some serious questions. Even then Peck wouldn't start in most teams and is largely in our team as everyone else has been out injured most of the time. I was surprised he started today given how big and important the game is and how inconsistent he is, albeit still learning.

Meeting tomorrow, how do you know??

Let’s not kid ourselves here, Burnley schooled us. Wilders assertion that there was nothing between the team was slightly disingenuous. The reasons we created naff all in the first half and found it difficult to play out from the back and break through the lines, was Burnley’s suffocating high press and their ability to retain the ball and dominate the midfield. Even late into the game at 2 nil Burnley were still coming forward will the ball and without it they were pressing us high…These are the hallmarks of potential champions…Soz Chris.

I watched the whole game (obviously from afar) but our fans have a massive part to play in games. I couldn't hear any crowd noise apart from when the ref fucked up and we started to midly attack (when Davies came on) at the start of the second half.

So maybe the fans are partly to blame for being so quiet for 90% of the game. As I said, I watch from afar but I can't remember a home game this season where it's felt like an intimidating atmosphere to motivate the players, apart from Sunderland.

It's not cap doffing to understand that both those teams have better squads than us.

Spot on

I’ve always been of the opinion that “atmospheres” in football grounds have been very much a reciprocal thing. Yes, we can all sing our big set piece anthems and keep a modicum of noise going throughout the game. But at home where the majority of fans are usually engrossed in the football, the atmosphere is usually reflective of what’s happening on the pitch.
