Todays going to be interesting with which sheff utd going to turn up, is it the pedestrian boring team that played Wigan & Bury or the quick, pacey team v donny that try to stretch & get in behind. Because I thought we had learnt from our mistakes last Saturday had positivity only to be back at square 1 on Tuesday

The manager has to decide whether to play Reed and Calvert-Lewin in front of a nervous and possibly toxic home crowd.

Can he trust the fans to cut them a bit of slack or will he expect them to get on their backs at the slightest opportunity. In the context of the players' development in readiness for next season is this a big hurdle for them to overcome, or does he just play them in away games for a while?

What a state to be in. The lads are only 18 years old and trying to make their way in their careers.

Fair points. Even so, they need to be played in the "cauldron", & to sink or swim. As Nigel says, it's likely to get worse before it gets better. We can't be waiting on better days for a more opportune time to play the kids. And like George was (& has been the case with Louis from time to time), they can be temporarily sidelined when they have a bit of a mare (which, with young players, is inevitable on occasions).

While fully realising both Reedy & George have copped some stick this season, "our own" are fair more likely to be given a sympathetic chance, especially if they are seen as part of a more youthful & dynamic situaton going on into the future.

Hopefully Nigel will involve Whiteman as well before long. Cloughy rated him highly I seem to remember. And he seems to have had a sound season for the u21s.
