how you can be offside, from rolling a corner BACKWARDS, AND there are about 3 wolves players on the line?

Ask Mr Wavey Flag.

I think there are a number of decisions that could do with explanation to be honest :(

Blame the ref ................blame the weather...................blame the credit crunch.................blame yer Auntie.............blame 'our gert'

THEN WAKE UP...........SAME OWD UNITED.

I hardly think enquiring as to how one decision can be made is making excuses, do you?

The OP is talking about one decision. Why don't you discuss the original point?

Please don't take over threads like this, it just puts people off posting.

I couldn't see what had happened from my vantage point on the far side of the Kop, being a short arse, but did ask the taller people around me why there was a problem.

What I do know is that you can't be offside from a corner, but if the ball is touched by another player, intentionally meant for to the player who took the corner, and if the corner taker is in an offside position, then clearly he'd be interfering with play, and would be offside.

From what I can gather (I could only see peering heads), that was the only reason to give offside.

I'm more worried about the ball which was a foot at least behind the line, according to Beacon Radio (otherwise known as Wolves Radio, according to my Doghead mate), which wasn't given as a goal. The quote was "I can't believe that hasn't been given."

And many other decisions too.

that lino was dodgy.

Cant blame it all on him like but when the balls a foot over the line and then gives them a free kick from something that never was offside and the go and score from it doesn't help one bit.

Same Lino gave a corner that didn't cross the line, an Offside that was impossible & didn't allow a goal when the ball was a clear foot over the line (and I know I had prob the best view of it from my seat - back row of south stand Gangway A Seat 12 - and I saw daylight between the ball in the net and the post).
If you did you day job that bad and you were freelance as Refs/Linos are (I assume) you wouldn't get paid!

Like I have said before it has to be the only job were you still get paid no matter how bad you are at it.

I think I may actually take up a career in it. Seems like any pillock who can wave a flag abit can become a linesman these days.

I am sure if you asked any football fan after a defeat thay would have a few questions about the officials. Having said that we do seem to have a few having an "off" day at bdtbl.......................

Gentlemen, I am sure I don't have to remind you that this forum is a place for everyone to air their views and do so in a respectful and courteous manner. There are ways and means of disagreeing with people which are slightly more profound than telling them to "fuck off".

Consider this a gentle reminder to all of you.
