Villa fan in peace...

I think Archer is a great player and deserves a PL starting role. It would be interesting to know the details of the deal. It seems clear that if u guys are relegated it is just basically a loan deal that suits each club. But if u stay in the PL, I wonder what the buy back clause is

Has anyone ever heard of a sale with an obligation (rather than option) for the selling club to buy back? Genuine question as I'm interested in whether there is any precedent for a deal like this.

Newcastle just bought Hall with an obligation to buy.

Archer packs his bags tonight, pre Sheffield Train
Zero hour, nine p.m

And I'm gonna be as drunk as a skunk by then.

I'm going to set some rockets off tonight
I hope they miss my wife.

It's lonely on the backgarden
Until 10 rockets go into the night

And I think it's gonna be a long, long, time
'Til Riffleman posts again on here to find
I'm not the man they think I am on S2
Ah, no no no
I'm a rocket man
Rocket man
Shooting' out ITKs
With T-Blade here alone

😉🚀
Pasta man?

Although we will get £20m back to buy another striker
It is highly likely that there is a relatively small amount of money changing hands. I don't think we (Villa) have cash flow issues and this is just a way of making FFP look better. The 18m fee could be 1m upfront and 17m next year but if u go down and we buyback then we give u guys 3m and all debts are cleared.

I was all in for Archer as I believed it meant guaranteed goals next season in the Championship.. now it looks like we have him, lose him again in May when we go down, and be back struggling for goal scorers in the Championship. (along side also probably losing Hamer if he has a decent season)

The future looks bleak.
Have a good life hiding under your bed covers all day and every day in case something nasty happens out in that big, bad world. 😲

The problem with Berge was that he was influenced by games, rather than influencing games. When we played well, he’d thrive and play well too, but he wasn’t the sort of player who could lift us when the rest of the team was having an off day. I enjoyed watching him when he was good, but was frustrated at how often a £20 million player managed to be a passenger when he should have taken the game by the scruff of the neck and dragged his team mates’ performance levels up like Ndiaye did.
I was a big fan of Berge but this is 100% correct.

We’ll said.

Please stay fit, please stay fit, please stay fit…….
They’re all fit until they get to the gates of Shirecliffe. We must put it in the small print of players contract that your very likely to pull your hamstring during your time with us

Sounds about right mate.

You seem to be missing the £20M and wages spend we would have freed up for loans/acquisitions by selling him.
Although I do need to say I think the buyback obligation is bullshit if it's as described.

Basically means Doyle and pellistri are a loan and we are done then. Maybe Mame fella last day of the window.

Now the archer deal decides what Doyle is loan/buy imagine we get him on Monday after the city game. City bringing him on a coach that saves that cost
McAtee and Pellistri loans not Doyle.

And a bonus one Leeds would be nice, missed out on Hamer, now missed out on Archer.

Bet they're loving life lol

Agree….it’s a nice bonus…..altho a PL club always be more attractive than a Championship club, even when that Championship club is called Leeds Utd.

This Archer signing is massive for us…..because we literally have no fit Championship standard (nevermind PL standard) strikers.
It also gives him time to find his feet before the massive Everton home game in 2 weeks.
