I think I have got to the point now where I don’t see the point is spunking 15m or whatever that a, wont stay with us when we go down or literally would be able to buy back at a pre defined time.

Let’s load up in the midfield, find a baller to replace ndiaye and load the gun for our young strikers and see what they do.

This season is done, might as well develop our players for next season rather than villas

You giving up already then Eric? Yes it's a tough ask but saying it's over after 2 games is a bit defeatist. Stay with em mate, it aint nowhere near done .

You don't bring players through by being negative. We have to do what we can to survive ! The players will grow on the back of a season beleaving they can
Do it ! a positive attitude is all important no time for negativity. Two games In and were gone ! Amazing 😏

Well i saw signs of recovery last night .We matched Forest for a long time in fact we were the better team for most of the second half and got them rattled. Really impressed with a couple of the new players ,looked quality pity really plenty of profit come next season when other clubs come to poach them . but we still need that striker . Just a word about Osbourn he was great last night nothing got past him . Forest gave up coming down the right and started to probe our left and we all know what that means .

I have no problem with us all moaning & having our ‘two Penneth’ until 1st Sept deadline. We are all Blades, and those of us who have seen the ups & downs from ‘Tony Currie Magic Years’ to Walsall to Darlington to Leicester then multiple semi finals / playoff final failures - are happy to continue in this rollercoaster. I was actually chatting to some guys up here at work(Huddersfield fans) and after I encouraged them to look themselves at our ‘let downs’ over the years they could not believe how starved we have been. As one guy said .. even town have won a couple of play off finals & a Sherpa Vans!!!

So all opinions are fine by me …. What did John Cleese say in that film…..‘it’s the hope that kills you!!’ … that should be up in lights as part of the new frontage this year on the South Stand….

Still do

My grandkids get a new one every birthday - oh , the look on their faces
Can you do me one in fat old bloke size? Loved them when I was a kid too. Spring and summer holidays couldn't come around quick enough. We ended up with a train - front trolley for two, with steering and brake, a middle trolley and a rear trolley taking one apiece. 😆 They were built and designed by a couple of older lads and us younger ones were just the labourers and passengers. The older lads probably went on to work for NASA or Lotus or something.

Season is done? Eh? What after 3 games (including City game) ?

Whilst things look bleak, we don’t give up that easily. Just remember the first season back under Bassett. What was it, a massive 4 points accrued leading up to Xmas fixtures? Did we go down?

ITKer hears something.

Suggests we'll not pay over the odds or put in a ridiculous self-defeating buy back clause.

TIN POT WANKERS!!!! SEASON OVER!!!!

Well, at least we're not overreacting eh?

We are looking in the South American market I don’t know who for though or what position.

Somewhere Nic Copernicus just spunked his pants. Fact fact FACT.

I'd guess that Mings won't make a difference to the Archer deal, Buendia plays as a winger/attacking mid I think and they're set to replace him with another player:

Buendia, meanwhile, is awaiting another consultation with a knee specialist as he also faces a long road to recovery. Villa look set to replace him in the transfer market with the arrival of Nicolo Zaniolo, while Unai Emery could now dip into the transfer market for another centre-half - perhaps on loan.

Villa only play with one striker so I reckon we have a decent chance with Archer. There's also Keinan Davis at Villa, always liked him but would imagine he'd head to the Championship.
I was just reading the Villa forum on their Archer thread and they seemed to be of the opinion that Archer would be needed in the squad due to current numbers unless someone else was signed. They expect a deal to be done with Archer whenever the Zaniolo transfer went through as he would be able to cover up front allowing Archer to leave.

Zaniolo was only signed yesterday:

Just to give everyone hope, the lack of movement on Archer might not be anything to do with our offer/their valuation but simply Villa saying no deal until we've replaced Buendia, which they now have.

If that's the case, Archer would never have been moving until now anyway, so maybe we get some better news in the coming days?

For what it's worth, they seem to think getting £15m would be decent (altho they are also talking about a buy back clause)

Yesterday many of our chances came from hoof ball so a tall techniquely strong striker might do. Also helps with the defensive headers in the last 15mins as well.

You have to remember that we have a few fans with hearts the size of a pea.

We cannot sign proven premier league players as they're wages are too high.
If you bought 4 of these for example on £70,000 a week on 3 year contracts, it would cost £43,680,000. That's without all the agent fees etc, so probably around £50m.
Each player then costing a conservative average of £30m say. That's now upto £170m.
What if they are failures? The club is then in real danger,as the current board cannot bankroll it.
Regarding "such apathy and helplessness" at the top, we have signed 7 and i remind you of many a darker time than this. Probably will sign 9 or 10 before deadline. Some will fail, some will do very well. Spending loads of money guarantees absolutely nothing. Every player we sign is a gamble, as like you said, "we haven't got millions to spend."
Only people accepting relegation are the likes of yourself. I certainly am not. Nor are the players, management and the board.
Ironically, one of the things that may make us "unactractive to the outside world" is the constant pessimism of some of our "supporters."
And we will survive. We are Sheffield United.
My point was that we are in the market we are in - which is accepted for obvious reasons - but even within that market we are still not in the ball park for what seem to be Heck's prime targets (Archer / Akpom / Doyle) .

Therefore, if we are not wanting to / can`t afford / whatever - in that market , as has been said - where next ? thats my whole point

We have positioned ourselves to operate at a certain level so that we don't financially commit suicide , but we aren't doing so at the moment - maybe we will ? But time is passing and before we know it 4/5 games will have gone and we may be playing catch up with a poorly equipped squad

But if we dont, the likelihood is that we won't be able to compete in the Prem - many are seeing this therefore they are worried and confused as Ito what the actual plan is .

Not sure what other people think, but it looks like Osula could have had a possible shout for a penalty in the first half (only saw the long highlights on Sky), defender caught him late as Osula was playing the ball but depends if there was enough contact.

I thought it was a pen
The usual suspects in shoutbox thought not but laughably thought anels was
