It was parked up on the M180 about a mile before the Scunthorpe turn off.

I was doing 85mph when I saw it, and hit the brakes but now I've got a wait to see if anything comes my way.

I bet there is a fair few others in the same boat from today

think it got us as well. My mate was doing about the same as you.

Bad news guys, you can expect a letter from Humberside police in the post over the next couple of weeks.

I got caught by the same van a few weeks ago - 3pts and a £60 fine for 90mph in a 70mph zone.

look for 'M180 Beltoft' on the web, its an obvious accident hotspot on a bang straight, bang flat stretch of motorway...

We saw the speed camera signs and unusually, slowed down and then spotted it and were able to reduce to 70 as we passed!

We've all driven too fast, but even on a straight, flat stretch of motorway, a puncture, a loss of concentration, and at that speed you can easily kill yourself and maybe some others too.

My advice is to set off 10 mins earlier and drive with your right toe slightly higher off the floor than usual. Its much cheaper...

Fcuk it, get a road angel, tom-tom live and then floor it until you get the warning about the camera then hammer the foot to the anchor.

You COULD get a puncture, but it's unlikely. Make sure you maintain your vehicle correctly, always check the speed rating on tyres when you buy and get better than you need.

The only danger on the roads are other stupid drivers and you can almost predict what they will do.

The worst thing you should do is spend your time looking for speed cameras.

Clocks on cars tend to be around 10% over. So when you think you are doing 80 your're doing around 72. I tested this on my car and it was about 10%. After saying that it can vary from vehicle to vehicle. You never know you might just get away with it.

I thought it was well-known that the M18 and M180 were usually packed with Police cars, parked, unmarked and otherwise? I don't think I've ever been down there without seeing a van or their unmarked Mondeos/BMWs at the side of the road having pulled someone over.

If it looks like a good place to speed, you can guarantee that the Police know it's a good opportunity to chase after you with their fast, shiny cars... no coincidence that the Police Evos and Scoobies are usually seen out in the same proximity on a Friday night (Parkway and M1).

Perhaps you could combine the middle pedal in your car with the speedometer and your eyes and thus make sure you don't speed? And if you do get caught speeding, stop bleating about it.

I totally agree with that so long as it applies to everyone else but me. :D

Same van did me at an alleged 108mph a few years ago, despite jumping on the brakes. I hope you only get 3 pts at the most. Bet than van earns loads every time scunny play at home. Tw*ts!

I know! Fancy those police bastards making you break the speed limit. Twats, wankers and arseholes.

After all, they even get in the car with you and press the accelerator for you just so you will speed, and nobody actually knows what the speed limit is on the motorway anyway.

The fuckers will be arresting people for burglary, fraud, rape and murder next. Bastards!

Any going over the speed limit should be thrown out of their car by a lion

Of course all this speed cameras bollocks is easily dealt with if you do your research. The interweb's full of useful stuff on this subject.

Don't worry ...................... its easy peazy to get off with this ! ;)

I can confirm they do,but its held over the river in Hull.I am also waiting to see if ive been collared by the said van.
Don't think Humberside subscribe to the driver training that allows you to avoid the points ,tough luck

Anyone else notice that some parked alongside the dual carrigeway in front of the pub had got parking tickets whilst others hadn't?

That effing van is ALWAYS there. I was bombing along when my son reminded me about it in good time to slow down. I remember it being there every time we went to Grimsby as well as Scunny. I think it is a special for Sheffield fans, loads of easy money on a deserted motorway that goes nowhere. Bet its not there tomorrow at 1 oclock!

Top tip, drive without a licence and they have nothing to add the points too.

I'm hoping I got away with it. Was probably only doing 75 when they will have first clocked me, saw it fairly early and was doing 60 by the time I passed it.

Hope you all get banned and locked up. Most of you were quick enough to call for this and worse for those rioting. What is it with drivers thinking they all know better than the law?

Perfectly normal, wonderful people all - can sometimes be turned into instant twats by the simple expedient of 'just add car'.

Great post, absolutely right. As SV said, if you got caught you were doing something illegal, so stop bleating.

This has nothing to do with "law" and everything to do with the breaking of corporate rules. Just ask Darren.

Your completely right about the twats bit though.

Eh?

It's a criminal offence to speed. If you don't accept the fixed penalty, you would be tried in the criminal courts.

Excellent point.
